Jain College is situated in Bangalore, the College is situated in the most happening place, the college has great teachers, and the students who come in are from varied backgrounds with different cultures. For students coming from the outer regions of Karnataka need not have to worry about their food concerns as there are n number of restaurants and cafes around the college. The faculty is great. With all experienced teachers teaching the students.

Jain University Admission process is quite simple, almost all the admissions are taken based on 12th or 2nd PUC scores or grades. Anyone can easily bag the seat with 60% in their PUC. The college management is very sweet and friendly, and they keenly look into every student’s daily performance, the College expects the student to maintain an attendance of at least 75% by the end of every year.

I took up B.Com honors, eligibility required is at least a minimum of 65% in 12th or 2nd PUC, no entrance exams as such. I joined this course as I was interested to do something with accounts. And I joined this college as it is quite close to my house as well. The subjects they teach are all very much relevant and useful for our future endeavors. The subjects were very useful.

The faculty of Jain University is more the less just like family, but only if you behave, and respect them. The teachers are very well versed with their subjects and all of them strive to give the best knowledge to the students, at the end of the day it depends on the student if wants to take it or not.

The teachers of the college involve themselves in all the fields not just teaching, I’ve heard the teachers from BBA are excellent with their subjects. While I was studying the number of faculties in the college were 120, plus 60 non teaching staff. The college recruits teachers if they have a minimum experience of 4 years in the teaching. As of my knowledge back then the teachers who used to teach a lot of them are PhD holders and few them were graduates.

Honestly speaking few teachers are really great, but few of them don’t reach your expectations, which is fine, as you won’t find a college with faculty where everyone are excellent. But I must tell you all the teachers are quite friendly.

Placements are not that great, as compared to other colleges, I must say the placements are very less, and the companies that come in choose very less students, the reason behind it is unknown, but students who have expectations that they’ll crack the placement, next receive a notification that they didn’t make it. And one more thing during the placement is Jain college merges with CMR college and conducts placements for both the colleges and I’ve noticed a lot of placements are bagged by the CMR college students itself. This is the only factor which is negative for me, as Jain students also work hard and give more than 100% of their efforts but do not get selected. The companies which came in during my batch were TLC, Northern Trust, and few others.

The highest package received from my batch is Rs. 8 Lacs per annum. And the average package received was Rs. 4-5 Lacs per annum, again only few were able to grab this. From my batch hardly 30-40% made it, the rest were disappointed heavily as they weren’t expecting this. But one good thing is the college trains you well for interviews and job placements which is quite useful when your luck outside in different other companies.

The hostel is in the same lane where the college is situated, the hostel is not in a very busy lane, but if you walk around 300 meters away you’ll find everything from Malls to bakeries, hotels and what not. You’ll find good cafes as well. Now coming to the Hostel, there are more than 70 rooms, which are huge and according to the students choice, one can choose to stay alone in a room or share the room with others, for which prices accordingly. The hostel fees two years back was Rs. 40,000 which keeps increasing every year.

The hostel food is very healthy, but I’ve heard the dinner isn’t that great, but the other meals are good. They serve North Indian and South Indian cuisines, and on few days they serve a different kind of cuisine. The security is quite strict, as every floor of the hostel has a guard and a Warden to look after the students, and in the ladies hostel there’s lady Warden in every floor, the service of the hostel is decent. The washrooms are well maintained. There is availability of hot water whenever required. There is no curfew as such to any students. But the student shouldn’t reach the hostel late midnight, in which case the matter will be taken to the parents.

The college is spread across 2-3 acres and made up of really good infrastructures, the campus has the PU college as well, the buildings are well maintained, the classrooms are very decent looking interiors, the benches are maintained well, the washrooms are well kept, the canteen is a great place to hangout during breaks, and they have a very interesting menu. The price range is average. The auditorium is of medium size.

The library has stocked up with all the necessary books, a lot of students refer to the books from the library to complete their assignment. There is a quadrant space to play sports, which isn’t that big. The medical and emergency services are present, as there is a first kit always ready in the office room, which will be used when it’s required.

The campus is situated in Jayanagar, the most happening place. There is something or the other happening there. The students come from different places of the country. A lot of them fall in love with the place. The college conducts inter college fest every year, the fest goes on for 2-3 days, the name of the fest keeps changing every year, the name of the fest while I was studying was called Udhbhava, during this fest, activities from all the fields will be conducted as competitions between different colleges. These three days are no less than any sort of a festival. The campus will be filled with vibes and colours. There are no much clubs in the college, but there is a dance team, a fashion team and a music team of the college. The college teachers conduct small activities in the class itself, to bring out the interactive skills of the students. Which is very much helpful for a student’s growth.
