Asansol Engineering College B.Tech Review By Anas Tanweer

My college is at 8 Km distance from my home, and while taking admission this factor was very dominant on my decision. I took admission in B.Tech ECE Branch and currently I am in 2nd Year (3rd semester) and till now the overall experience is quite good in this college. College has nice facilities, it has a good central library, big playground, common room, canteen, and especially the campus is quite beautiful. Faculties are not best but up to the mark and friendly. Therefore, it’s a good college to take admission.

Here in our college, we have B.Tech, BCA, BBA and M.Tech. As I am in B.Tech so I can explain it well. In B.Tech we have good numbers of streams like CSE, IOT, AI.ML, CSBS, ECE, ME, CE, EE, and IT. For entry you have two options WBJEE and JEE Mains (For Fresh admission, not Lateral Entry, they give separate exam). Like every other college in this college also demand for technical stream is more. So accordingly, you have to score marks. For ECE in 2022 (my year of exam) cut off was 78000(3rd Round) and for IT, it is closed at 55000 (not quite sure, but it is around this only). Department of ECE is well known in this college, so you can take admission in this college, Not the best in Asansol-Durgapur but surely comes in top 10 colleges.

As I am in ECE, faculty of ECE is good and very friendly. The teachers are well-experienced, and they teach in a very easy-to-learn manner. Not all but most of the teachers are Ph.D, out HOD is from IIT and also the faculty of other branches are also good. They teach well, but there is one thing that I must mention, in 1st year that is when you will be taught basic science, here you face problems in understanding, but that is not a big deal.

Yes, of course we have Placement Cell in our college, and they really help us to grab opportunities. They provide seminar interactions with companies, trending courses which you should learn to grab placement.

Yes, we have both girls and boys Hostel, but I can’t explain more in detail as I don't reside in college, but overall hostel buildings are good as well as the wardens, and especially there is no ragging in entire college also in hostel.

The college campus is in a good amount of area, it has nice building and good infrastructure. The academic blocks are nice and the whole campus is full of greenery. There are separate buildings for all the branches and the capacity of buildings are enough. Classrooms are big and spacious, benches are comfortable.

We have good numbers of clubs in our college like hardware club, cultural club, photography club and many more, and all the clubs organize different types of events which are very interesting and competitive. Each club has teacher co-coordinator which help in many ways. The events take place frequently, can’t talk about fests because it hasn't happened after 2020.
