The only thing that this college taught me in the last 2 years is that nobody is going to be on your back, motivating or pushing you to work and study. You have to do everything on your own. Theory is anyways a self-study but don't expect lab faculty to spoon feed you everything. You will get every facility you can think of, including high speed unrestricted internet connectivity. You'll have every resource you need at your disposal. Again, it's up to you on how well you make use of them. You can find a great college life and easily find a good balance between personal and professional life. Only thing to shove into your brain is that you have to self-study in here, cannot depend every time on the faculty. Honestly, this college and university are overhyped. The brand image of Osmania Univeristy and the Osmanian tag may be great but it’s quite a small circle. Nobody these days and in this generation will look at your Osmania profile and judge you based on it. Only the present generation elders will get goose bumps hearing Osmania. The timetable gets a special mention. It is really flexible. It is not a standard 9 AM to 5 PM college. You will find a lot of free time. Also, your classes will frequently get cancelled or are unattended by any faculty. You can have a really smooth experience if you can stay backlog free.

Syllabus sometimes is ridiculous, but they claim they are updated as per industry standards, whatever! You will mostly find an excellent faculty but not always. The faculty may be excellent, but you may find their approach boring and end up bunking their lectures. Not every time the faculty gives notes, PPTs and PDFs. You might want to make some personal notes as well. You need not workday and night every day of the month to get a good score. A simple, clear and precise strategy coupled with well-timed execution will easily get you a GPA of 9.4+ You can find a tone of books at the library or even PDFs will do the work if you are used to it. If your goal is not to get a 10 GPA, you can clear the exams over a single night if you have at least a good enough basic idea of what is going on in the class. Labs are most annoying parts, (Not talking about the computer labs, they are a totally different thing). You'll mostly get to do each lab experiment only once. So, make sure you properly understand what the experiment is about and document it well because nobody can help you with the lab.

Few professors are really good. You will love attending their lectures. Most of the faculty is pretty chill. Definitely, some of the faculty is annoying. The senior faculty (professors and assistant professors) are very knowledgeable. They know a lot of stuff. If you catch their radar and get them know you, they can bring you a really good professional network to you. Get hold of professors who are working on projects that grab you interest and try being a part of it and you can thank me later. You people are smart enough to decide which classes to attend and which ones not to attend.

This college does have a Placement Cell which is in fact very active. It even has a dedicated web page for communication. The placements anyway are not super great. They are just fine. Placements are just like any other tier-3 college. A few people who sincerely worked on building themselves get placed at good positions with good starting packages (20+ LPA). Important to note that you will not find bigger companies coming to the college for placements. College may train you a little regarding placement interviews. But up skilling yourself and getting ready for the placements is a personal journey, not just this college, any college cannot help you with your placements. One good thing is that you will get lectures from industry experts, so you get know what the industry wants.

There are multiple hostels in the campus for boys. The recently built new hostel is pretty nice but the older ones are quite horrible. But once you get used to them, you will start loving your hostel rooms. Hostels are included with cafeteria, and I do not need to explain the typical hostel food. You get internet connection (wireless, do not expect LAN cables like IITs) in the hostel as well. 3-4 people per room, the rooms are pretty comfortable. Need not worry on that. Hostel wardens are for name's sake as far as I know.

You get pretty great infrastructure, pretty insane if you have got no expectations. Specifically in the Computer Science Department, you get crazy powerful computers with big great monitors and damn it the wired internet goes up to a freaking 1.5 Terabytes a second on low load. And yes, don't worry, the internet is unrestricted access. You also get a campus wide Wi-Fi network, and every department runs its own Wi-Fi network. You get a pretty good canteen serving breakfast, lunch, and snacks. The infrastructure is great overall. Almost all the computers run on Linux in the computer science department, so get used to it, again, not a difficult thing.

The campus is really big in the ways you cannot imagine. You cannot cover the campus by walking. You cannot even cover the campus in a single day on a bike. The campus also has its own forest; they call it the oxygen park. Pretty safe, you can go spend some time around. Don't expect grand scale events and fests. Fests are fine but not even above average. Do not have higher expectations on fests or else get disappointed. Green campus with a hint of pinks here and there. A lot of trees but do not hope for a cooler average temperature.
