My overall experience in MBBS

Overall Rating
The experience at Maharashtra Institute of Medical Sciences and Research was quite good. The experiences I had throughput MBBS journey are wholesome to be able to practice as a doctor. This particular institute has a good reputation and is at close proximity to my hometown. Fees are affordable as compared to other colleges in that category. The environment is quite student friendly in the institute.
 

Academics Rating
MBBS course is of four and half years and one-year compulsory internship after that so total duration is five and half years. The completion of this course makes you eligible to practice as a medical officer in either Government or private hospital. Eligibility is 12th pass with able to clear requirements of clearing NEET UG cut-off. This cutoff varies every year and is different for different categories.
 

Faculty Rating
All the faculty members are good and they have experience in teaching. All the faculties hold postgraduate degree in their subjects. The background of faculties is MD, MS or DNB. There is a good student-faculty ratio so there are better connections between students and teachers. All the faculties are good in teaching and are always present to clear the doubts.
 

Placement Rating
There is no campus placement in medical colleges. You can opt for the government or private hospital as medical officer.
 

Hostel Rating
Hostel is good but far from college campus. Facilities include water cooler, geysers, ceiling fan and cupboard.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The academic block consists of administrative and departmental offices as well as classrooms for non-clinical subjects. While the clinical departments are all in the hospital building, lecture take place in academic blocks and postings are held in the hospital OPDS and wards OC under respective subjects. The building is not so modern yet equipped with basic facilities.
 

Campus Rating
The college fest takes place but not in grand way as you see in other colleges. The crowd is mostly from nearby region so not different from the local mentality. No clubs or social groups in college. Other extracurricular activities are not much expected. The campus is life is not so happening as the college campus is at city outskirts.

    I study in MIMSR Medical College, Latur. I felt better than GMC Latur. Right now, I’m pursuing 3rd year MBBS, and my journey has been so nice and memorable till now. 2nd year was quite hectic for me, but it was adventurous though. Yes, it does have some cons like not getting stipend to intern but overall, it is nice, and I hope it will somehow change in this aspect.     The institute is well managed according to education facilities. Also, there is a chance for a student to stand independently through sports or any research papers.     Teaching is good. Exams are taken on time. Library is with every subject book, but books are of old edition. Auditorium is not good enough. Classrooms are small and there is ventilation problem. College's ground is small and not properly maintained. Lack of drinking water facility. Study room is available 24x7. The clinical posting is taken on time.
