Sinhgad College of Engineering B.Tech Review By Patil Drone Devanand

I'm currently pursuing my undergraduate program in Mechanical Engineering from one of the Pune's renowned engineering colleges Sinhgad College of Engineering, Vadgaon Pune. As I was looking out to opt for the best possible University to pursue my further studies, I got the name of this college particularly as I have been in this institute for a long while. I have been through the campus inside out and the great infrastructure and amenities of this college were the things which got me here.

As I enrolled myself in this college, my first-year engineering college experience was quite well than expected. On the first day, we had our induction program where we were given more insights into how the teaching staff and faculty work on nurturing students in becoming the best in their field. We were actually amazed about the strategies (a way to reach how to cope up with studies as well our other interests) provided by our mentors. We also have had many fun indulging activities like Problem Based Learning (PBL), Students Department Committee and many more teams for participation in more of practical world-based experiences.

The faculty which we got specifically for our respective classes was immensely good. Their strategy to how to study the subject, how to approach it based upon the course objective and the outcome was fantastic. It would always help students in becoming better in academics as well in other important aspects like personality development as well.

My college has the most successful venture on the basis of placements compared to all the other campus of Sinhgad. Whether it is a core branch like Mechanical or Civil or both competitive branches like Computer Science and IT, placement is for sure to the students who are able to indulge themselves in the correct path under the guidance of their mentors (teacher guardian). Almost all the students get placements based upon their capability and of course the skills they would provide ahead.

I haven't been in the hostel as I am a localite to the college but have heard a lot about the college. First of all, the rooms of the hostel are actually short and during summer days, there is a light out and it's heavily hot to stay in the rooms. Also, there is untidy and no maintenance of the rooms or the corridors. The mess good is sadly terrible so the advice would be taking PGs around the college available having mess included which actually provide good and better stuff rather than that sick food.

The campus is filled with different buildings and there is each building for different departments like Mechanical, Civil, EnTC, CS and IT, F.E., Biotechnology, Chemical and Production. Each building has their own seminar halls for any important occasion or for students’ improvement lecture seminars. There is actually a good round around for books and Xerox centre along with some grocery store and a medical clinic freely available for the students. The labs for each department are suitable and students are fully indulged in practicals with all the required machines that are present.

Overall academics and the infrastructure are quite good but what more excited the students are the extracurricular activities held during our time. There are different teams participating in competitions based upon their motive. There are clubs and art circles for students interested in performing acts and artists. Also, Sinhgad Carnival is a big fest held every year in our campus where everyone feels joy and relaxed. There are also sports teams for sport diverted students and the infrastructure for it as well. Around the campus, there is every store possible for what a student will need so anyone far from home doesn't have to think to go away long for anything required as it is available in around the campus. The greenery around the campus also enlightens the visitors and the ongoing students make the campus feel alive. As a student, I actually love my college the way it is.
