Established in 1914, Queen Mary’s College (QMC) was formerly known as Madras College for Women. Located at Chennai, Tamil Nadu, the College is affiliated to University of Madras. Moreover, the status of ‘Autonomous’ was granted to the College in 1987 by UGC.
QMC Chennai is approved by AICTE and recognised by All India Survey on Higher Education (AISHE). Moreover, it is accredited by NAAC.
Queen Mary’s College Chennai has 23+ departments offering courses at Undergraduate, Postgraduate, and Doctoral level at a cost-effective fee structure. The College offers programs in 2 shifts i.e., Shift 1 & 2 across various streams such as Science, Commerce, Computer Applications, and few others.

Admission Process
Queen Mary’s College course admissions are accepted in online mode and students can apply for the same through its official website.
At the College, the admission seats of the respective courses are filled on the basis of marks obtained in the last qualifying exam / State or National level examination, as per the respective course.
Reservation Criteria
The admission seats at the College are filled as per the Governments’ reservation norms.
Moreover, separate seats are available for the students belonging to physically challenged, sports (Priority for National Level and State Level sports achievers),Tamil students from Andaman-Nicobar Islands and ex-servicemen category.

QMC Chennai has established a Training and Placement Cell which prepares the student to face the corporate world. The cell also conducts job fairs to invite the companies for Queen Mary's College Placement drives.
A Career Guidance Cell (CGC) is also present at the College to provide guidance to the students, so that they can choose a career which aligns with their academic goals and interests. Moreover, both cells work dedicatedly to enhance the communication skills and technical knowledge of the students.

Queen Mary's College Campus is developed on approximately 17.1 acres of land. The College has built numerous administrative and academic blocks with historical architecture. Several spacious classrooms are available and few of them are equipped with modern tools and equipment to provide a digital learning environment to the students.
Within the QMC Chennai campus, a conference hall and several seminar halls with different seating arrangements are there to organise seminars, educational meetings, etc.
