International Institute of Mass Media or IIMM is one of the premier institutes in India for pursuing a mass communication program. Established in New Delhi in the year 1999, IIMM offers industry-driven programs relating to marketing and news media, filmmaking, photography, public relations, advertising, print journalism, radio, and television journalism. All courses and programs offered by the International Institute of Mass Media have the recognition of UGC.
The mass communication institution has had a trailblazing journey since inception, progressing slowly and steadily over the years. From launching the inaugural course (Diploma in Advertising Public Relations Marketing) in 2001 to offering full-fledged UG/PG programs from 2015, IIMM has come a long way. Mr. Prakash Bhagat, director of IIMM, expressed, “Don’t be afraid of being different. Be afraid of being the same as everybody else”.
This message from the director underlines the ethos of the International Institute of Mass Media. The institute’s technique and practice of teaching are avant-gardes, intellectual, performance-driven, and practice-oriented. The institute’s pedagogic infrastructure has been designed meticulously to furnish thorough exposure to students in almost every area about mass communication.
The courses and programs on offer equip students with sound theoretical knowledge and hands-on training in radio and television journalism, filmmaking, sound recording, video editing, photography, and multimedia. The curricula of the programs have been prepared after taking inspiration from the tenets, “Learning by Doing,” and “Learning from the Practitioners.” The mission of IIMM is to offer the students a creative, flexible, and dynamic environment for pursuing higher education.
And IIMM’s vision is to enable the students to access practical and academic learning in mass communication.
