BJB Autonomous College Hostel Fees: Rooms, Food & Rules, Bhubaneswar

There are around 5 BJB College hostels, 2 for boys and 3 for girls inside the campus. Some of the hostels are ‘Karubaki Girl’s Hostel’, ‘Ashoka Boy’s Hostel’, ‘Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Hostel’, etc.

The BJB College provides adequate facilities to the residents to ensure they stay comfortably; it includes fully-furnished rooms, mess, common room, gymnasium, sports, and the list continues. The yearly BJB College hostel fees is Rs. 56,600/- (including mess charges).

Students who are willing to avail the hostel facilities need to submit an application during admission at the College. The BJB College hostel seats will be allocated to the students by the authorities on the basis of their merit.

An annual BJB College hostel fees of Rs. 15,200/- (inclusive of mess charges) is to be paid by the students. In case residents wish to leave the hostel then, no refund will be provided to them except for the remaining mess fee and caution money.

* Students should know that the aforementioned hostel fees include charges for water, electricity, maintenance, hostel development fee, healthcare, Rs. 1000/- caution amount (refundable), and so on.

** Once the list of shortlisted students is published, they have to pay Rs. 62/- (Rs. 48/- for reserved category) before the stipulated date to confirm their seats.

Note: The charges of water & electricity may be variable as per the consumption bill received from the concerned Government department.

Certain rules & regulations have been laid down by the concerned authorities that are to be strictly followed by all the residents of the College hostels; some of the norms are stated below:

General Rules

• Students are not permitted to leave the residential premises without prior permission of the Superintendent. They shall only leave the hostel and return with their parents / local guardians before 5:30 PM.
• Residents must ensure they keep their BJB College hostel rooms neat & hygienic, use the hostel property appropriately, and refrain from scribbling on the walls / doors / windows. In case of any damage, the applicable fine will be collected from the concerned students.
• Boarders are not permitted to keep any electrical appliances & gadgets such as heater, laptop, digital cameras, etc. in their rooms.

Attendance & Curfew

• Students should compulsorily attend the Buxi Jagabandhu Bidyadhar Autonomous College hostel’s evening roll calls. If they miss the same for 3 days in a month then disciplinary action will be taken.
• The lights of the hostel rooms should be turned off by 10:00 PM and students should not leave their allotted rooms after the same.

Disciplinary Rules

• Strict disciplinary actions will be taken against the hostellers who are found to be involved in any kind of ragging / bullying activities inside the residential premises.
• Visitors can meet the boarders only during the allowed timings and are not permitted to enter their rooms.
• Smoking and use of any kind of intoxicants like drugs, alcohol, etc. is banned inside the BJB Autonomous College hostel.

The College has 5 separate hostels for the male & female students. It includes ‘Karubaki Girl’s Hostel’, ‘Kalika Girl’s Hostel’, ‘Kanchika Girl’s Hostel’, ‘Ashoka Boy’s Hostel’, and ‘Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Hostel’. The residential spaces present at the BJB College Campus have nearly 200 rooms for boys and around 271 rooms for girls.

The BJB College hostellers are provided with food facilities at the mess and dining hall. Here, students can have various types of nutritious dishes. The annual BJB College hostel mess charges are Rs. 41,400/-.

There are some mess norms that hostellers should be aware about; those are given below:

• The meals are served to the students only at the specified timings. Beyond this, no meals will be provided.
• Shouting / quarrelling / disturbing fellow residents inside the dining hall are not permitted.
• Meals that are served in the dining hall cannot be taken to the room or other common spaces of the hostel.
