Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University B.Tech, is provided as a Normal 4 years Degree and Dual Degree Course (4+2 years). Lateral Entry is also provided into the B.Tech Program to the students who are diploma holders, and are graduates. This program is provided in order to inculcate the knowledge and skills related to Mathematics, Science & Technology, as well as, to enhance the research abilities of students in the field of Engineering, Management & Technology.

Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, does not conduct any separate or specific examination for admission into B.Tech program. However, candidates who want to take admission in any of the programs related to B.Tech, they have to appear for and qualify JEE- Mains Paper-1/ CUET (Common University Entrance Test), examination with Valid Rank. Apart from this, for admission into Lateral Entry Program, GGSIPU CET (Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University Common Entrance Test) is conducted.
For GGSIPU CET, weightage is given to similar subjects, which were studied by the student during their Diploma or Graduation Program, apart from this Analytical & Logical Reasoning Ability, Visual Aptitude and General Awareness of students are also examined, through CET.

The candidates, who have applied for admission into Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University B.Tech, are selected for the final admission process on the basis of their performance in NLT- JEE Paper-1/ GGSIPU CET/ CUET examination. The candidates who achieve merit under these examinations are selected for the counselling process, and final admission process.
Step 3: Final Process
Candidates, who achieve merit under the prescribed entrance examinations, are selected for the Counseling Process, under which the overall performance of the students is looked into by the admission committee, and later the selected candidates are provided admission into their preferred courses.
