The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) Entrance Exam is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) once a year. The NIFT exam is held for admission in various UG & PG regular courses including B.Des, B.F.Tech, M.Des, MFM, and M.F.Tech, offered by the campuses of National Institute of Fashion Technology and other prominent Institutes located across the nation. In order to start with the NIFT 2026 Registration process, students need to first verify the exam eligibility conditions. The NTA i.e., the test conducting body has begun the NIFT 2026 Application Form process likely from 22nd November 2025. The last date to complete the application process of the NIFT 2026 exam is extended till 16th January 2026 without the late fees.

To register online, eligible students need to navigate “exams.nta.ac.in/NIFT” and enter the Email ID & Mobile Number. Once registered, candidates are required to login with the requisite credentials to fill-in the details of the application form. Afterwards, aspirants need to upload the required documents and complete the process by paying the prescribed fee.

The entrance exam will be conducted in 2 papers which are GAT - General Ability Test in CBT mode and CAT - Creative Ability Test in PBT mode, as per the NIFT 2026 Exam Pattern. Students remain confused about what they need to do or avoid on the test day, so, to clear that confusion, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has set some guidelines / instructions which are as follows:

• The reporting time at the test centre is 1 hour (60 minutes) before the starting time of the exam. Students who arrive after the prescribed time will not get entry inside the test centre under any circumstances.
• At the test centre, students must arrive with a printed copy of their admit card, 1 passport size photograph, a valid Photo ID proof (Aadhaar Card / PAN Card / Driving License, etc) to appear in the examination.
• Students must not carry any prohibited items inside the examination hall including the mobile phones, calculators, bluetooth connected devices, etc.
• If the authorities find any students who have exchanged their allotted seat / hall number by themselves, in such cases, their candidature will be cancelled.
• Students are required to complete all the rough work only on the sheet provided by the invigilator inside the exam hall. In addition to this, they need to submit it to the examiner before leaving the test hall.
• Candidates are not allowed to leave the examination hall until the entrance test gets over.
