Overall the effort that has been put by the management to add value to the course by regularly inviting business tycoons really boosted us. The number of workshop that we attended during the course was amazing. The biggest contribution in my knowledge has to be the development of students on behavioral front. Both in terms of professional and personal on how to present ourselves was the biggest contribution of Welingkar in my life. Given the opportunities, placements, and development the fees was little on the higher side. The reason why I chose Welingkar was that it has good brand name and has been constantly ranked among top 5 B schools in Mumbai. The alumni network of Welingkar is weak and that is where the college should do something. The college has roped in the best faculty, best infrastructure is in place and but not having Alumni network hurts. As I am Alumni of the college but college has never bothered about us after passing. There are many who have excelled after passing out from this college but their names were never mentioned.

College has the best resources and since the PGDM course belongs to their autonomous University, the course content I would say is much better than the University course. This is for the first time in my life I saw that there are 3 semesters every year and we were so busy that we had to attend lectures even on weekends as well. Even in the final semester we were asked if we are interested in some internship but couldn’t take that as the syllabus is so vast and the reports, assignments took the maximum toll out of us. For 2 long years, I was in a bubble from college to home and home to college. Here again one thing that toiled us was the lectures timing. There was literally no timing and on some days, I remember waiting for 4-5 hours for the next lecture.

Best in the industry were brought in by Welingkar. The management has used their wealth wisely I would say as most of the professors were working at a great post in top corporate. Even with the vast syllabus, we were done with the lectures on time and were given time before the exams. During that break we were allowed to go to the campus and approach our faculty members in case we had any doubts. The support and help provided by the faculty members is phenomenal and I don’t think we can thank our professors for all what they sacrificed for us.

If I compare the fees with the ROI, I would say the college is worth it. The average placement is about Rs. 8 lakhs and some lucky ones even got package double the amount of what we got. Everybody in the campus was so friendly and enjoyed each other’s success. The companies like banking institutions, accounting firms such as Deloitte, and PWC were among the major recruiters during our batch. The best part was the number of IT players who visited the campus. They did surprise us but they were the ones who hired maximum students.

The campus is too small to have a hostel but the management has set up 2 hostels, one for girls and one for boys. The hostel rooms are huge and the best part is the location. They are just 2kms from the college and I saw many hostlers used to have a long walk back to their hostel. The hostel rooms were allocated on twin sharing and the first priority was given to the students coming from other states. If the seats were left vacant even day scholars were allowed to take the hostel rooms.

I know for people who don’t belong to Mumbai will never understand the importance of space. The WeSchool is complete in just one building that accommodates nearly 4-5 courses. Hard to imagine but it’s true. Having said the college is not short of facilities at all. The labs were world class and don’t know any other college even have innovative things on board or not. The classrooms are digital with audio-video facility. The college also has imported learning tools and basically the college did everything to make sure that students have the best of facilities. The round table conference room was the best in class. Many virtual business meeting were held in the conference room to give us a feel of how we actually be working in the corporate houses. Thus small but equipped is what WeSchool campus is all about.

The campus life is good and the best part is gender ratio was balanced and there was so much of diversity in cultures as students of different caste were on the campus. Got so much to know from them. WeSchool is not about study as they are big on events as well. However, I hardly participated as the studies too almost all the salt out of me. Exams of the course were structured and accommodating activities in them was good for intelligent students I guess as many students were seen enjoying the time as well. I had fun but studies were something that I could not get rid off while my stay at WeSchool.
