Tecnia Institute of Advanced Studies is a NAAC accredited Grade A University. The admission in the colleges is through the Common Entrance Test (CET) conducted by Indraprastha University annually. It is one of the top colleges in the university, especially for the BJMC course. There are both morning and evening batches for all the courses. Located at a convenient location in North West Delhi and with an extensive curriculum, the institute can be a good platform to enjoy your college life while learning everything about journalism and mass communication.

I was a part of the 2015-18 batch of the BJMC department. It is a three-year full-time course. Each semester, there are over 4-5 theory and 3-4 practical subjects. The curriculum is designed thoughtfully to provide in-depth knowledge of various fields, including writing, photography, videography, PR, and event management. Students are given assignments and projects throughout the year to help students learn better. Additionally, according to the syllabus, students are required to complete two internships during these three years. After completing the internships, students have to prepare an extensive report highlighting their experience during these months. Due to an exciting curriculum, interesting subjects, and projects, the academics rating of the college is top-notch.

The BJMC department of Tecnia Institute of Advanced Studies has more than ten highly qualified teachers from different fields of expertise. All of them have years of experience in various areas, including radio stations, news channels, and media houses. Thus, they are able to impart practical knowledge to the students of different semesters. However, some of the faculty members are not permanent but visiting. They are available only during the classes. Students can still connect with them over emails and phone calls. Also, the teachers are very approachable and provide guidance during the projects, presentations, and exams. With years of experience and in-depth knowledge, the BJMC faculty of the college is one of the best in the IP University.

The training and placement cell of the BJMC department of the college is highly talked about. However, when it comes to functionality, it is undoubtedly not up to the mark. Few start-ups and lesser-known companies visit the campus to pick students for different designations. The interview process is conducted before the final exams, offering placement opportunities before graduation. The average package is, however, not more than INR 3 lacs. Additionally, leading media houses like Zee Media provide their training and internship programs for BJMC graduates to advance their career in the field of their choice. The students are asked to find mid-semester internships on their own.

Tecnia has two buildings across the road, one for undergraduate courses and the other for postgraduate courses. The Undergraduate building has spacious rooms, enough to accommodate 30-40 students. It also has an open canteen and the Tecnia auditorium. Annual events, conferences, and other special events are also organised in the auditorium. On the other hand, the PG building is recently constructed with more facilities. The classrooms are air-conditioned and spacious. There are computer labs, photography labs, and a videography lab. These labs are equipped with the necessary equipment and systems for providing in-depth knowledge to the students. The training and placement cell and multipurpose hall are within the PG building.

With excellent facilities, good infrastructure, and several cultural events, Tecnia provides a good campus life. The college organises various events and activities throughout the year. The annual college fest, ‘Varchasva,’ is celebrated with great enthusiasm. Students from various colleges participate in different activities. The college campus is strictly against ragging and provides the necessary assistance in such cases. The seniors, faculties, and staff members are really helpful and friendly. Additionally, the college is located at a convenient location near the Pitampura Metro Station (Red Line). It is just 5 minutes walk away from the station. There are several eateries, malls, and a lovely district park near the campus as well
