Tecnia Institute of Advanced Studies BBA Review By Aman Pathak

Well, the college is in Delhi, but it is affiliated with Indraprastha University and not DU. The rules, therefore, were not that steep as there were no issues with attendance. Tecnia Institute of Advanced Studies has now been operational for over 20 years and still hasn’t found its foot because of poor placements and training. In the 1st year itself, I realized the difference between DU colleges and other private colleges in Delhi that are affiliated with other universities. Well, the biggest irony here was that there were too many teachers but I will, unfortunately, have to remove the word teaching from them because if I chuck out a couple, the rest didn’t even know the meaning of teaching. The college management too shaped itself for organizing glamorous events and fests as they too didn’t care about the low-quality faculties and placements. The college is good or rather best at marketing because how they have manipulated the ranking is beyond me. When I searched for options for BBA colleges in Delhi, Tecnia was ranked among the best on Google.

The colleges literally distorted rankings and brought a huge number of students to their campus. Look, most of us were not by choice but by chance as we failed to get admissions at top DU colleges. I was frightened by the academics here because the books were so bulky and classes were not mandatory. Even the classes hardly had any learning because the teaching faculty were least interested in teaching. One thing that Tecnia Institute might teach you is how to be at the tail of college management and faculty because if you are good at it, trust me you will not fail. If you want to avoid being a tail then better do self-studies because the college wouldn’t even care whether the portions are complete or not.

The teaching faculty didn’t know teaching and some of them were those people who have cleared UPSC exams. I just don’t know how or maybe they gave their all in doing so because when it came to teaching, they didn’t know how to do it. If reading notes or case studies is the way of teaching then Thank You, Boss! I was shocked because even the schools have better faculties than this college.

Well FOMO played a huge role in placements because the lenders of the college that is some private finance companies have come for placements. They rather came just to check whether the students here are capable or not and trust me they realized that they are not. The marketing students were offered odd sales jobs and even others who didn’t do marketing as their specialization was offered the same jobs. BBA looked worse than any other course here because, for Mass Communication and BCA, the placements were still average but for BBA it was the poorest. I can’t even call it an unfortunate event as I knew after the first year that how can one hire students who have no knowledge of their subjects.

The popularity of the college is so high that there were a fair amount of outsiders. Yet, the college didn’t have any hostel and also didn’t guide the students in finding homes. So, many girls too came from cities like Ambala, Chandigarh, and others but had to find rented homes somewhere outside the college as the college didn’t bother once they had the fees in their accounts.

Well, for marketing the college, a good campus is required and they luckily have that. Yes, the area was small but the buildings were fantastic. There were three buildings in all and out of which one was occupied by the BJMC department. They had various facilities like a radio station, media room, green rooms, and studio but our building which was shared by BCA students just had a computer lab as an appreciable thing. The classrooms too can be appreciated as along with smart boards, there were ACs installed in the classrooms. They weren’t turned off the entire day and that was the only reason, students were stuck in classrooms. There were washrooms on each floor and were maintained. Indoor sporting facilities and a gym were there but no playgrounds to play outdoor sports.

For those who love a carefree life, the campus was a boon for them. Those who were ambitious might have a different opinion as one thing with which the college was good at was its events. BJMC students led the troupe as no BBA or BCA students were ever given the chance to host the events. The annual event Varchasva was the only event when UG and PG students shared the stage together. Apart from that too, there were various events and the college allotted a steep budget while organizing the events.
