Faculty and Placement Insights of IIT Ropar

Overall Rating
IIT Ropar is one of the top Institutes in India. I enrolled here because this Institute provides amazing academic facilities and placement opportunities. The Institute also focuses in the extracurricular activities.
 

Academics Rating
To get admission in IIT Ropar. You have to clear JEE Advanced. It is one of the toughest exams in India. To enter in this institute, you must crack two exams JEE Main and JEE Advanced. To be eligible for these exams, the student must pass class 12th with Physics, Chemistry, and Math. There are many other courses too. For example M.Tech, M.Sc, PhD, etc.
 

Faculty Rating
All the faculty members are well trained and some of them have done PhDs in their specific subjects. Medium of instruction by the professors is mostly in English. The professors are well qualified in their own domain. They teach us in a very simple manner; each student is able to grasp the concepts easily. Practical instructions are also provided by them. All the faculty members are very kind and polite.
 

Placement Rating
This institute has almost 80% placement with an average package of 22.49 LPA. Renowned companies visit the campus for recruitment. Students get an opportunity for internship in 3rd year. Students also get pre placement offers from the company in which they do internship.
 

Hostel Rating
Hostels are well equipped with facilities. There are multiple washing machines on every floor. Each room is allotted to two students. Cleaning is done regularly by the helping staff. Washrooms remain clean. Hostel has lifts. Here each student gets a bed, cupboard, and a study table.
 

Infrastructure Rating
Institute campus is of 500 acres. The main academic block has many offices and a canteen. The classes are mainly conducted in ‘Radhakrishnan Block’ also known as lecture hall complex. There is an auditorium having a seating capacity for 950 students. The library has capacity for 400 students. Almost every course book is found in the library. There is a separate block for every department.
 

Campus Rating
Campus life is pleasant at IIT Ropar. There are around 5000 to 6000 students. Recently, we had an Institute fest called ‘Zeitgeist’ which was very fun and a great event to enjoy. There are many opportunities for students to show their extracurricular skills and other talents.

    Actually, for getting a seat into IITs we have to clear JEE Advanced, and which is one of the toughest exams in the world. I thought to opt for this college because it was near to my city, and I am getting a seat in department of chemical engineering.
