Symbiosis Centre for Information Technology, Pune is a premier institute and who dreams about IT information security and Data analytics would love to join. In the trend of techno managerial education, SCIT provides the right space to explore different technologies to get prepared as per industry standards. Re-accredited with NAAC “A” grade, college primarily focuses on the main aim of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” principle which attracts the students to club with different cultures around. Initially SCIT has only ITBM as a branch and very recently 4 years back Data Sciences and Data Analytics has been included which is indeed a great course to pursue. SCIT campus has an interlink of SCMHRD as well so diverse backgrounds meet and share the same room. As a student What I observed is the growth and impact it is bringing in times of COVID-19 as well. Prioritizing online education is a little challenging these days but, in our college, I am not feeling it this way.

To join SCIT, one should register for SNAP test for which mostly exam will be conducted in the months of January - February. Post the written test, selected students will be called for campus to attend GDPI and Interview rounds. Since there are two branches in SCIT i.e., ITBM and DSDA, students can opt for both branches and either one during the written rounds and pay the application fee accordingly.

I have opted for MBA in data analytics and decision sciences as it is my area of interest. The students who have opted for both would be required to attend the interviews and GDPI rounds separately on consecutive days to avoid further confusion. I suggest you apply for both since the demand for information security and analytics are on the same track. The admission process is completely handled by student committee members who do the job excellently. Accompanied parents along with students will be asked to in the main hall, this would also give parents a good view into the campus. Unlike under graduation, we cannot expect time for too many breaks and chill outs. Remember MBA is itself a roller coaster and in Symbiosis, you have to rush with time or maybe competing with it. My pro tip would be to avoid procrastination, once you think that this task can be done later and that's all it'll be a heap for sure!

Faculty is a great plus to the college, who believe in conceptual learning and continuous peer education with advancement of latest technologies. Each faculty is a PhD holder in interesting fields of techno managerial studies. Their aim does not focus always on placements but a subject oriented and research driven teaching, which is inculcating thirst for learning among us. Trust me, Assignments, test which seem very challenging during the middle of semester will help a lot while giving end semester examinations. Since the education is altogether a techno managerial plate, students with nil coding knowledge can still learn from scratch in the DSDA branch and ITBM (who opted for python) with the basic understanding and advanced materials that faculty provide. Each student will be assigned a mentor who regularly guides the progress of knowledge. As I mentioned earlier research-oriented education is given much value in SCIT where paper submission on one of your interesting areas is given preference with continuous support. Guest faculty will be joining for certain subjects and they may be from IT background or from other colleges.

60% of the students in SCIT carry a work experience of not less than a year. So, leaving your job and pursuing a full-time study is not a joke and I think SCIT takes this seriously. SCIT placement cell strives as much as it can to provide the best opportunities. Proper guidance on how to attend interviews including mock sessions will be held. Internships will be taken as seriously as placements are. 40% of students who are fresher will also have a wider range of opportunities in the relevant domains so the two semester’s theoretical knowledge will have an industry exposure.

The first thing to mention SCIT is a residential college which means Staying in a hostel is compulsory though you belong to Pune. (I know it is a little tough for Natives but soon you will love being with friends)Hostel life is a fascinating one, and the canteen food is fantastic. We get food on a personal request from the cook as well. Rooms are spacious to accommodate 3 persons per room with personal cupboards and a study table provided. If students are planning to join in 2021, the hostel will have 2 persons per room as per covid terms and conditions.24 *7 hot water facility will be there. For boys, the hostel campus will be outside the campus with a distance of 1-2 Km of the walk. Since SCMHRD, SCIT campuses are interlinked students of both campuses can meet and exchange ideas and can have a lot of fun.

SCIT campus infrastructure reminds me about the good library, ventilated classrooms with projector facility, and very importantly the best facilities that campus provides. There is a basketball court for sports lovers and food lovers like me can spend most of their time in the cafeteria (if you are lucky enough to complete assignments a little early). An Auditorium is always welcomed for stage performers and talented students who wish to showcase their other side of the colorful page. As the college is a residential campus Medical emergency support is present 24 *7 with guided staff who takes care of the students.

Graffiti, Cultural fests and much of the campus life awaits!! Campus reminds me of two friendly dogs Pound and Dollar who are super fun and cute There is this attractive Graffiti wall that really adds a great ambiance to the campus. Cultural celebrations and fun are not very far from campus. You will learn the right balance of study and fun once you join SCIT!
