Amity University B.Tech Review By Jyotiraditya Singh

The Amity University in Noida is famous though but not because of its excellence in academics, faculties, or culture but due to the ill-reputed events that took placed in this university. They are many times got dishonored due to the big fight among students. There is no personal grudge in me for the university but studied there for 4 years have taught me that it is important to focus on hard work rather than involving in the mere spotlight. Amity Noida Admission process is so easy as they take the online test with very simple questions and anybody thus can take admission in the university. But the only thing is the money as the fees is very high here and other than that, my whole graduation was passed in lashing out the fines.

I did my graduation in Amity University, Noida in B.Tech and my branch was computer science. The faculties were good but the problem I could find was in the syllabus. I thought of preparing for GATE after my graduation but there were few subjects in my course related to GATE unlike the other universities. Other than that, the system of attendance was very bad, and we were given target to keep our attendance above 70% and not involving in other extra activities. They taught us some foreign languages, but I found the subjects like Environmental Science useless as they should add some main subjects as well.

The faculties in our university were of mixed type, which means you could find both good and bad teachers. They kept us busy in doing assignments and completing the target of the attendance, as it will be having impact on our internal assessments. And at the end of every semester, we would realize that we have wasted all our energy and time in accumulating the good internal grades rather than learning something useful. To be honest, some of the HOD of other branches are still doing PhD for years. But there are some good faculties as well, who are highly educated.

The procedure of the placement in Amity is very well and it does not matter what was your academic performance throughout the year, a job will fall in your bag. The target of some of the students is to get a job anyhow in the college campus and it does not matter to them what profile they are into. The average package in my department (CSE and IT) is only Rs. 2-3 LPA but if you are good in both academic and general then you can bag a package of more than 3 LPA easily. And if you are approaching towards the marketing profile, then you will be getting 4 LPA, in which the highest package of Amity is Rs. 7.5 LPA.

It is surprising to know that the Amity University has spent more in the hostel and cafes than the academic and research area. The hostel is way more spacious than other universities’ and has common sofa and fridge. But one should only live in hostel if he wants to enjoy the hostel life and not to study. There are at least more than 500 students living in the hostel and is always crowded and noisy even in the night. The fees are very high for hostel and there are 3 beds in each room. You can get a non – AC room with a single bed only if you are very rich and lucky at the same time.

The infrastructure of the Amity Noida Campus is so attractive that you will end up taking admission in it but from inside, it is not that good as shown in various prospectus and advertisement. It is spacious and looks good for the shooting purpose. Thus, many celebrities have organized their concert in the university. They have high security in which no student from outside can enter the campus unnecessary. They check the student and staff passes to ensure the verification is done in a valid way which is a plus point for the campus.

The university is found to be good only for the courses other than B.Tech and M.Tech such as the Mass communication, law etc. The reason being it gives high exposure to such students by organizing the events such as fashion show, nukkad naatak, and other cultural festivals. Many celebrities do visit the university at least once a year and it brings Amity in the Hall of Fame. They hardly organize the tech fest for engineering students on such a large scale.
