A Review on Dr. B.C. Roy Engineering College

Overall Rating
The name of my college is Dr. B C Roy Engineering College. It is a private engineering College with 2 different branches (professional courses and polytechnic college). It is overall a good college with mostly highly educated faculty members, modern infrastructure, and average 3-4 lakh per annum placement, average hostel and nice campus life. Only thing I don't like is increased fee structure which came after University (makeup) registrations.
 

Academics Rating
You can enter this college for B.Tech through WBJEE, JEE MAIN, or direct entry. You just need to have science stream in higher secondary and have to pass in all subjects. You can choose any branches among 8 branches. 3 of them are NBA accricated (CSE, IT, ECE).the cut off varies per branch (till 60k).You will get internships from 1st year.
 

Faculty Rating
The faculty is quite good. They are highly qualified with M.Tech and Ph.D degree's from various top colleges. Most of them teaching style are also good with friendly approach. You can contact them any time. Most of the time they gave helpful replies too. They also guide us for internships. The faculty strength is 254+.
 

Placement Rating
Our college's placement history has been quite good through years with maximum 14 lakh/annum package. Some prominent companies for placement are Infosys, Wipro, Syntel, Godrej, Capgemini, TCS, and Tech Mahindra etc.
 

Hostel Rating
I didn't live in hostel but hostel facility is overall good.
 

Infrastructure Rating
As a private engineering College the infrastructure is very good with advance modern labs, 5 academic blocks, 1 management building, Library, 2 canteen, 2 big grounds (including 1 basketball ground),3 hostels for boys, 2 hostels for girls and also have hostels for professors. It has another 2 buildings also for professional courses branches.
 

Campus Rating
Overall campus life is good with some minor problems sometimes. There are many clubs and communities in our college which are operated by seniors like Music club, Entrepreneur, coding etc. There are annual tech fest (horizon) and cultural fest (zeal) organised by respective seniors. Juniors from any year can join both these fests. There are various seminars also throughout year by many dignified persons.

    The overall experience is good. The labs are well-equipped and maintained and the faculty is quite helpful. All the professors are knowledgeable and helpful in academics and also other aspects. The college ground is well maintained and includes sports like football, cricket, basketball and sports facilities. Hostel is also available. The seniors are not arrogant and are quite helpful....
