Galgotias University BBA Review By Nikhil Mahajan

Before taking admission there are key pointers and fees is one of them. Galgotia Business School charges heavily and in my opinion, it’s not worth enough. There are few disturbing elements at the College as the local bunch of guys will show their power and will never let lectures commence on time. For BBA there’s no placement at all. It is just a course they have started to market their MBA program as we were clear during the final semester that there’s no point in providing you placements as you are not ready so go from MBA from Galgotia. That was the end for me as the University may not be fake but is a cheater definitely. My only advice would be is to stay away from Galgotia as we have many good Universities in NCR. Galgotia is a brand but a brand that believes in volumes rather than quality as the intake for BBA is now over 300. I would never recommend Galgotia to anyone and things haven’t changed a bit as most of the students after BBA are working at a meager amount of 15-20k in some small companies of Delhi NCR.

The course was great the kind of projects that we used to get were even greater. However, the local gangster clubs had other plans as they would never allow the professors to begin on time, and even after complaints things didn’t change. For project work we were allowed to make our own groups and still remember doing a live project for Pizza hut was so fun. Our group convinced over 100 people to try Pizza hut and we even got a certificate of appreciation from them. Everything is nice about the course and the tie-ups that the college has with companies but I so really wished that haven’t made the college a Chandni-Chowk thing and had proper governance for the smooth conduct of the course.

The quality was not that great as most of them were passed out from Greater Noda colleges and most of the professors were more of an intern it seems. I asked one doubt and the teacher told me she will get back to me as she didn’t had any idea about the same. For the fees that they charge at least providing quality teachers is their duty but I guess Galgotia University doesn’t think the same way.

First of all the internship opportunities that we got showed us the real picture. We weren’t trained on how to work in the industry and 3 months internship was the only silver lining that we got in terms of placement. We were told that 40 companies will visit, 50 companies will visit but it never happened. Finally, during the last semester, the University gave us a detailed explanation of why they couldn’t provide us placements. Trust me there are no placements for BBA and all that the University claim is as big a lie as it can be.

I opted for traveling from Ghaziabad daily as the hostel was nice but the hostel is common and you don’t have any control as your roommate can be a pharmacy student or an engineering student. You don’t get a choice in selecting your room partner. There are different hostel buildings for boys and girls. Fees for non AC rooms during our time was 90k and for Ac rooms, it was 1.2 lakhs. Once you opt for the hostel, you will be provided 3 meals, and the charges for food are levied in the hostel fees itself.

The college turnover is in billions and a large chunk of that is being spent on infrastructure. Thus, the infrastructure of the college is appreciable. The infrastructure can be compared with the world’s best Universities and I guarantee that Galgotia University will not be far behind. Galgotia Business School is also inside the University campus that has 8-10 colleges under it. The University is built across 50 acres of land that has some of the finest buildings. Air-conditioned classrooms, and a state-of-the-art library. The IT facilities at the campus are incomparable as during fests I visited some of the top colleges of Delhi University and if you don’t mind, I will call them poor in front of Galgotia. The computer lab was so huge and even if one visits the lab once a week, he/she doesn't have to lay their hands on the same PC as there were over 200 pcs for sure. There’s a cafeteria that offers a multi-cuisine menu and a dining hall that is actually for the hostellers. The college also has a level playing field for cricket and football. The indoor gaming facilities are also one of the best.

Traveling 120kms daily was my routine as I stayed in Ghaziabad and the University campus was 60kms from my place. The college didn’t have many activities throughout the year and I mostly stayed away. The education system at the university was a real mess. No proper governance or strict rules. Even if we don’t attend the classes, the college didn’t bothered. The fests were good and we even represented the college at inter-college fests and competed with the best. Since I was not happy with the University the overall campus life experience for me was unsatisfactory.
