Sinhgad College of Engineering M.Tech Review By Gaurav Balapur

This college stands tall amongst the 5 top engineering colleges in Pune University. The college management was great until 2016 but in the recent times I’ve heard that it’s turned pathetic. Sinhgad College of Engineering Admission process was a 1-day process which was governed by MSCTE (Maharashtra State Council for Technical Education). Overall it was an easy admission process.

I pursued my masters in Electronics and Telecommunications, same as that of my degree course. The practical and classroom sessions were great in terms of teaching staff and necessary infrastructure. The reputation of the college is more than enough for a good job opportunity.

All the faculty members of this college were masters and PhD holders. This was a plus point of the college. Most of the faculty was experienced having an average of 20 to 30 years of experience. The professors were helpful and professional. I had a great learning days in Sinhgad College with my professors. The professors also helped me in my projects and guided me in the right direction.

We had placements in this college. Sinhgad College of Engineering placement cell offered good assistance and platform for final year as well as master's students for appearing for MNCs. If you’re not placed in the final year, you’re given an extra year to appear for companies even after passing out from the college. I think that’s the best thing of any placement cell. If you are placed and have an offer in hand, you’re out of the placement drive. One can also get into teaching after completing masters which is a nice option in itself.

We had a good hostel facility in the college campus. I survived the food but not the cockroach who jumped in it with the same expectations. Overall Sinhgad College Hostel facilities are best amongst the peer colleges apart from the food. The hostel stay is quite affordable, as well. Staying in a college hostel is better than travelling to and fro from your house or rented flat. It also saves time and gives an opportunity to experience the hostel life.

Sinhgad Vadgaon has an incredible infrastructure, one that’ll leave you awestruck. In fact, infrastructure is the best feature of my college. The classrooms and labs are very well-equipped for any stream of engineering. My college had an awesome cricket ground, 1 football ground, a swimming pool and a tennis court, as well. Having all these in one single campus is rare to find. I was lucky to have experienced all of these activities. The library of my college was also a large one jam-packed with fat reference books.

Sinhgad Karandak is the annual cultural fest of the institute and is regarded one of the biggest cultural fest of the colleges in Pune. I had a wonderful campus life in this college. Each and every festival here was celebrated with great pomp and enthusiasm. I’ve had made some beautiful moments amidst the campus with my friends who are now my best friends forever. We’ve also lived our hostel life to the fullest in Sinhgad college. I would give a complete 5 star rating for my overall campus life.
