A Review on West Bengal University of Animal and Fishery Sciences

Overall Rating
I am currently BFSc 4th year student. Our university is located in Belgachia. This University is accredited by ICAR and it is the only government facilitated fishery college in West Bengal. If you love fish and want to make carrier in fisheries sector then this faculty is very good option for you.
 

Academics Rating
For this course you must passed HS exam with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English stream. In UG its have 44 seat including ICAR seat. Merit list is prepared on the basis of these four subjects. One all India exam is conducted by ICAR for UG admission also. Swami Vivekananda Merit Cum Means Scholarship is also provided by this university. The BFSc course has 8 semesters and in each semester you have to read 10 courses. In 7th semester one training tour in different central fishery universities is conducted by the university.
 

Faculty Rating
Our faculty professors are very good and the teaching style is also very good. The university is surrounded by various coconut trees and flowers.
 

Placement Rating
After completing BFSc you are then eligible for getting a job. After completing MFSc, you can also get a job in different government project. In this college you will be provided with job opportunities for different companies.
 

Hostel Rating
There are 2 hostels for boys and 1 hostel for girls. Hostels are cleaned regularly. All hostellers are provided with necessary facilities such as table, chair, bed light, fan etc.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The infrastructure of the academic block is very good. There are 10 different departments with their own labs consist of different kind of resources. The class is conducted on projector. Seminars are also conducted by the teacher at the end of the semester. Seminar room is also available in the college. One central library is also available with various books about fisheries.
 

Campus Rating
We have one big sports ground for playing cricket, football, volleyball and a badminton court is also available in the college. One gym is also available for exercise. Indoor games such as table tennis and many more are also available in the college. A sports event is also organised every year in the college.

    I am a student of B.F.Sc 4th year of West Bengal University of Animal and Fishery Sciences. It is very good institution, teachers are well educated and helpful. Every year at least 10-15 students get placement in various fish feed and fish products producing companies. Students can also appear for JRF exam and get a chance to study in the Central Institute of Fisheries Education, BOMBAY. It provides a great knowledge and interest about fishes and underwater animals of this world.     Our institute is well reputed in the west Bengal. And it is basically ICAR allied institute provide B.F.Sc, dairy technology and veterinary degree. After 12th I choose this institute to know the fishes and their life so according to higher secondary marks get admission to this institute.
