Not just the Poornima College of Engineering but the entire colleges of Poornima group of institutions are hell. Many students have suffered because of it and if I haven’t done PG, I would have suffered thus far. The worst part was the attendance there. The college starts at 8 and it doesn’t matter whether the lecture will start at time or not as a student, you don’t have a choice but have to be there. I don’t have a motive to degrade the college but my point is to put forward that many people in the name of colleges are misusing their powers. I wish they realize that by doing this they are only spoiling the future of the students. The management quota is highly active because every other student have entered the college through that. I am just trying to give a constructive review of what has happened with me and many of my friends at the college.
Attendance has to be there because otherwise you can’t fight or mess with the powerful management. Buttering is good because that will help you get better marks in internals. If you haven’t participated in the competitions of the college, it will be considered an indiscipline act. What rubbish was that and many students left the college after the first semester and I wish I joined them. The mismanagement and the old-fashioned system of studies have ruined one and many. The cage like classes has not done any good and a college can be judged by the strong alumni base it has. I challenge if anyone from PCE has reached any top position as the college has completed over 20 years. I bet there would be none.
The faculty who considers themselves an Einstein doesn't know the basics of Physics. I passed out 9 years back and still the same teachers are operating as one of them is my known and it was because of her that I took admission here. I don’t mind even if she read this because truth is not hidden as you can ask anyone about the faculty of the college and you will only get negative feedback. The faculty only had one thing to say about the strictness that it is for students good but in the process they have made students life hell.
Only 20-30 percent students got placement and that too after college begged to take few students. IT companies looks like are no short of jobs and are everywhere. The mechanical to chemical engineer students are hired by them at a package of 3-4 lakhs. The college has a placement and training cell department but don’t know even if it was functional or not because I never had seen them operating.
The college has a girl’s hostel inside the campus and boy’s hostel just outside the campus. Since I was from Jaipur I was lucky that I didn’t have to stay at the hostel for which again I have many negative feedbacks. The students used to smoke weed and bring liquor inside the campus. Many rich students stay in the hostel who has made it a party den and setting with watchman to allow your friends could be easily done.
PCE is a part of Poornima Group of Institutions and there were many colleges of Poornima group in the same campus. The infrastructure was beautiful as all colleges had their own buildings. The labs were fine and the computer labs had nearly 30 computers. I though it’s great but since I attended a PG college only then I realized that Poornima’s computer lab was smaller than a cyber café in Pune or Bangalore. The college has 2 canteens and they were nice. The college also has a small hospital or sick room whatever you call it. There are no sports ground as in the name of sport there’s only a basketball court and we hardly played there as Jaipur’s weather will hardly permit you to play an outdoor sport in afternoon.
Most students were from management quota so they came to college for fun. They enjoyed and went as they had a settled life beyond them. For students like us we started searching for options and a large contingent of students started preparing for GATE and other entrance because the college even filed to provide us a job. In names of events there were 4-5 events and as soon as the academic year started we were reminded to please be ready for that. I never participated or enjoyed any fest of the college. I had such bad memories and I wish I could tell you more but wheels of my head has started turning so fast as even though I tried my level best to share some good memories, I just couldn’t.

My title doesn’t tell the whole story as the college is ranked high but on what grounds is something that I couldn’t figure out in my 4 years of engineering at the college. On a serious note, the Poornima Engineering College is hell and I am writing it anonymously because the group is quite powerful and you will find many positive reviews and testimonials here and there about the college but trust me they are all fake. I will give a fact check that will justify what I am saying is true. Luck... Read Full Review
Poornima College of Engineering which is second in number after JECRC in private colleges. This college has left its mark on the students of the entire country. Not only from this country, but also students from outside this country take admission in this college. What to say about discipline of this college, too many restrictions in rules and regulations. If you do not follow their rules and think that you can go on then it is impossible. This institution is affiliated to Rajasthan Technical Un... Read Full Review
