SSCBS is a very good college if one wants to excel in academics. Though its campus life is not remarkable when compared with North Campus but still the annual fests like Crescendo keep the mood on. My major reason for choosing this college over others was primarily its amazing placements and I wanted to pursue a finance specialised course which is offered here only. If one really wants to keep his academic and college life balanced and hand in hand, then they should definitely go for it.

Since I am pursuing BBA (FIA), I would provide specific details for it only, although, it also offers courses like BMS and B.Sc. One has to attain a good rank in CUET exam for enrolling in this course. The subjects which were considered for it were General Test, Mathematics, and English. The academics at SSCBS are much more in-depth and good quality in comparison to any other DU College. The teachers of core subjects have advance knowledge of their respective subjects and fields. So, if one wants to make a career in the field of finance and investment, they should definitely enrol for BBA (FIA).

The faculties teaching the core subjects have a Ph.D in their respective fields and they try to give as much knowledge of their subject as possible. The teachers adopt a mix of both formal and informal teaching styles to keep the classes interactive. However, the teachers of electives; SEC, VAC, and AEC are not up to the mark as compared to the core teachers. Often the teachers are not experts of their subjects and some of them are not serious towards teaching.

The most remarkable feature of SSCBS is its placements. It offers placements at par and even better than SRCC, the top college of DU. For the most recent placement session whose phase 1 ended recently, the highest package was around 23 LPA and average package is of 13 LPA. The top profiles offered here are Consulting, Investment Banking, Research, etc. offered by top companies like McKinsey, DE Shaw, BCG, and some Big 4s.

Though I am not a student of hostel, I have heard some things from hostellers on the basis of which I am writing this review. The hostel is average with facilities which are necessary. There are 2 lifts for the students and good food is served to all the hostel students.

The infrastructure of SSCBS is very professional. The ground of the college is small but the whole building is very professional looking. There are 4 lifts, 2 for the students and 2 lifts for the staff members. College also has a library and reading room where the students can study and get the books issued. Library also has books for professional courses like CA, CFA, etc. The washrooms are also clean and maintained.

The campus life at SSCBS is not very engaging. The students are very competitive and do a number of things simultaneously. There are around 50+ societies with a few societies that specialise in same area of interest. The students regularly participate and win top competitions at national and international levels. However, the fest organised by Crescendo is just amazing. They also organise a prom night which is very unique.
