* For admission in aforementioned UG courses, students should have passed Class 12^th in a related stream with requisite marks. Under M.Tech, M.Pharm, and other courses, a relaxation of 5% marks in the last qualified examination is provided to the SC / ST category students.

Admission Process

Students who have qualified the respective eligibility criteria can fill the application form of the University in online mode (via its official website). Also, the University accepts offline applications under few conditions.

Seats in BIT Mesra Courses are filled on merit-basis. Under the B.Tech course, seats are allotted to the students either through Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) or JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority).

Birla Scholarship to the students who are enrolled in a 4 / 5-year course and secure a valid score in JEE Main or its equivalent examination.

The scholarship is available for the students who belong to the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) under the General category. It is offered to the students who have obtained more than 8 SGPA in the preceding semester with no backlog at Birla Institute of Technology Mesra and their family’s annual income is not more than Rs. 8,00,000/-.

• For Economically and Socially Challenged Students (ESCS)

BIT Mesra helps economically and socially challenged students from SC, ST, OBC, Economically Backward Classes (EBC), and Non-Creamy Layer (NCL) categories. In order to avail this scholarship, students have to obtain more than 7 SGPA with no backlog in the last semester and their parental income should not exceed Rs. 8,00,000/- per annum.

* It is to be noted that ‘Merit-Based scholarship is applicable for 1^st semester only. Whereas, ‘Merit-cum-Means’ and ‘ESCS’ category scholarships will be applicable to the 2^nd semester.
