ANDC is a little less known among university students but ranks within the top 20 colleges across India in NIRF rankings. From my experience, I would call it a hidden gem at Delhi University. The college offers only science courses and a B.Com program. The attraction of the college is its excellent faculty, which has given rise to numerous talented scientists. Admission to this college is worth it if you want to make a career as a researcher. You can get well-equipped laboratories for your studies. The sought-after course here is B.Sc Honours in Biomedical Sciences, which is offered only by 2 other colleges in the university.

My journey as a part of the Biomedical Science course has been exceptional. College gives you enough exposure to build confidence in research. My colleagues from other departments also have similar views. Admission is done through CUET-UG for all the courses. Course curriculum may feel hectic but it is all worth it as you get enough knowledge, which is probably equivalent to a master’s student.

The entire faculty is replete with established researchers with great published papers. Most of them hold a Ph.D. Few of them have their individual labs where they are continuing with their research. They involve you in projects and activities, and help you grow. You can go to them anytime with your doubts and they will always help you.

There is a Placement Cell and an entrepreneurship lab from where you can get funding for your startups. Most of the students prefer going for an M.Sc after their bachelors, but you can talk to the placement cell if you want to go for it.

The campus doesn’t have a hostel. You will have to find accommodation nearby.

The infrastructure is a bit old compared to other campuses, but has been renovated in 2023. Each department has its labs which are well-equipped. There is high-speed Wi-Fi, a library, reading hall, a web center, canteen, and a sports room, along with other basic needs like washrooms, girls’ common room, etc.

All the departments in the college conduct numerous events. From conferences to cultural events, participation is massive and the college crowd is quite good. You will have good peers for discussions and for hanging out. Different societies for dance, music, etc. are active and you can join them. Overall, college life is good but studies are intense because it is a science college, with focus on research.
