My Perception of Gauhati Commerce College

Overall Rating
From my overall review, the college is good; the teachers and students are very helpful in nature. They also focus on co-curricular activities along with academics. They also provide hostel facilities and the infrastructure is also good. I genuinely love the college from the day I took admission.
 

Academics Rating
Academics are good, I chose B.Com (Honours) as I am from commerce background. I have passed my 12th standard from Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, there is no as such eligibility criterion but you have to score good marks in your 12th standard in order to get the admission in this college, because the cutoff marks are bit higher than other colleges.
 

Faculty Rating
Faculty members are excellent; they are very helpful in nature and they provide us study material and notes for the semester and sessional examination. All the faculty members are highly educated and qualified, and also, they solve our doubts anytime when we go and ask them about it. Overall, from my experience the faculty members are fabulous.
 

Placement Rating
Gauhati Commerce College does have a Placement Cell. Several companies come in our college to recruit the students. Our college does provide placements.
 

Hostel Rating
Yes, our college has hostel facilities. Hostels are decent, which means not so good, but yes, decent. The ambience of the hostel is good; all students stay together and they also help each other with their work.
 

Infrastructure Rating
College infrastructure is excellent; computer labs, Placement Cell, auditorium hall, a big playground, MBA block, BBA block, B.Com block, hostel, etc. are available. For different courses, our college has different cells and overall infrastructure is excellent from my point of view. Boys’ common room and girls’ common room are also available.
 

Campus Rating
From my experience, overall college life is good; from academic activities to co-curricular activities. They also focus on students’ creative activities and not only academics. Several events are organised by the institutions in order to empower and acknowledge the students and to make them competent enough for the real world.

    Gauhati Commerce College is likely the best institute of commerce in the northeast region and this is one of the factors which made me choose it. Moreover I've heard from my elder sister who is an alumnus of this college that it provides placement after degree.     GCC is one of the most reputed colleges of commerce in the whole northeastern region. Apart from the academic success it offers placement opportunities to the students. It has a very safe environment and a very supportive faculty. The students are also very heart warming. However the student capacity as compared to the teachers is very high.     Well being a government college, Gauhati Commerce College is average. Sometimes, you might feel very annoyed of college and sometimes you might feel satisfied to be here.
