Why You Should Choose IEM

Overall Rating
I enrolled for B.Tech degree in IEM, salt lake campus in the year 2022. I gave WBJEE and according to my rank I got CSE (IoT) department. The main reason for choosing this college was its promising placement records and others should join for the very same reason. Though it is not under MAKAUT anymore but still it has kept its good reputation.
 

Academics Rating
The course I opted for is CSE (IoT). The eligibility then was through WBJEE, JEE mains, and management. But currently, one can also give IEMJEE to take admission. My main motive behind enrolling in this college was to become a good engineer and utilise all the facilities in the college as well as learn thoroughly.
 

Faculty Rating
One of the good reasons for choosing this college that can be considered for choosing this college is its good faculty members. Each department has very skilled teachers and everyone does their job exceptionally well. At first it may seem that they are quite strict but its genuinely for our own good. We are free to visit them whenever needed and they willingly help us.
 

Placement Rating
IEM has a separate Placement Cell that assists all the willing students to acquire their dream job. We are provided a special placement dedicated class every week ahead of second year which is also really helpful.
 

Infrastructure Rating
IEM has a good infrastructure, no doubt. It has three separate buildings namely; management, gurukul, and ashram. The management building has the MBA department and a few branches of the B.Tech department, gurukul building has the Placement Cell and all the other branches of B.Tech department, and lastly ashram has its main office and BBA and BCA departments. Apart from that, IEM has the best football and basketball tournaments and a library in every building.
 

Campus Rating
If I answer this honestly, one cannot expect a really fascinating campus life here. It has maximum disciplinary rules which everyone has to follow. Though it has different clubs that keep one engaged throughout the year but if I talk about the fest, it is not as huge as other colleges. Once a year, IEMPACT happens and it is our annual fest, which is no doubt good but not as big as compared to other colleges.

    IEM Kolkata is best for Engineering as it provides good placements. There is an AC, computer and projector in every classroom. In this college there is a basketball court and library.
