Affordable fees but poor placement

Overall Rating
GBPIET, Pauri Garhwal is situated in the foothills of the great Himalayas. The beauty of the college and its surrounding is mesmerizing. The scenic view of Himalayas and lush green nature makes it more beautiful. It is away from chaos of city and situated in the town Ghurdauri of Pauri Garhwal. The college infrastructure is decent and its fees are very much affordable and cheap. But the placement is very poor and faculties are not very supportive and rude.
 

Academics Rating
Admission here is taken on the basis of JEE Mains score and for branches like biotechnology Class 12th percentage is required. The counseling is conducted by Uttarakhand Technical University every year for admission in this college. The motive of enrollment here is because of cheap and low fees and the increased demand of Computer Science.
 

Faculty Rating
The faculties are well qualified. Few of them have done Ph.D from top cream institute like IITs, IIT Roorkee, etc. The course curriculum is bit outdated. The teaching style is not very interactive only few teachers are good rest are egoist and behave rudely and treats students badly. Marks are given based on your writing.
 

Placement Rating
Yes, there is Training and Placement Office but it works very badly. No opportunities are provided to students for internships. The companies visit here for on-campus placements offer very below average package like 2-4 LPA. For placement, I would not suggest this college.
 

Hostel Rating
Yes, the college has good infrastructure. Hostels are provided and mandatory for every student unless you are localite. Hostel rooms are spacious and comfortable. Wi-Fi is provided in few hostels and department.
 

Infrastructure Rating
There is separate academic block for each department for CSE and CSE AI ML and MCA. The classrooms in the first floor are good but classes in basement are not well ventilated and are dark. There is Wi-Fi facility provided and has good labs but mostly students use their own laptops in labs.
 

Campus Rating
The campus life is average. There is very less exposure as it is away from city and situated in a town Ghurdauri. There are fests and sports events which are below average. The cultural fest is Goonj and sports event is Josh. There is also technical fest called Spandhan which are conducted every year.

    I am pursuing B.Tech degree in CSE from the institute. My overall institute experience is above average. Since it is a Government institute, the fee is very low which is one of the reasons why I am here. It has a very good infrastructure, with magnificent views of ice-covered peaks of Himalayas. There is no medical facility nearby. It is situated in a remote location, and if you need something, you have to go Pauri Market which is 10 km from the institute.     I choose this institute because my JEE rank wasn't very good. When I first saw the college, I really liked it because it was the first B.Tech college I had seen in the mountains, and the administrative block looked nice too. There was no mobile network in the hostel and not much else either. Gradually, I got used to these challenges and started accepting them.
