NITC a thorough review

Overall Rating
I have been here in this college since 1 year. Overall, it has been a great experience with some faults which I'll get into. I'll recommend this college to the aspirants for JEE. There are various facilities present which will help you upgrade your skills along with your extracurricular.
 

Academics Rating
The academics here are very strict. You need 80 percent attendance in every subject to be eligible for the exams. The course is relatively tougher compared to other engineering colleges. There are two exams per semester along with various class tests and quizzes. The course material is very well versed and thorough.
 

Faculty Rating
The faculty are very good to approach and will help you in every step you take. There are various faculties present. There is a FA for every student who will guide you through the entire College life. The faculties teach by presentations as well as by writing on the board. They provide course materials which help you in exams.
 

Placement Rating
Yes, the placements here are very fine. Since I am in first year. I am not well versed in the placements structure but all I know from the seniors are that placements are good at this college.
 

Hostel Rating
Yes. For the first year you'll be provided A hostel or B for boys. There will be 4 people in each room. Also you shift to the mega hostel which is out of campus from the second year with 2 people per room.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The academic blocks are very well defined. There are blocks of every branch. There's a central library, a computer lab along with various other buildings. The campus is very huge up to 250 acres. There are 2 grounds for extracurricular. There is an Open air theatre along with auditoriums for events to take place.
 

Campus Rating
The campus life is entertaining. There are two of the biggest fests in South India namely Tathva and Ragam in each semester per year. The extracurricular are present and there are various clubs you can take part in. There are various activities being held very regularly which will keep you engaged.

    I recently completed my 1st year from NIT Calicut. It was a great experience as I left my hometown for the first time and got into this institute.     I recently completed my first year in NIT Calicut and I can say that my first year was perfect. You can get admission in NIT Calicut through JOSAA counselling if you have good rank in all India JEE examination. First year was full of enjoyment as academically there is not so much pressure.     After one year of hard work in entrance coaching, I got into NIT Calicut. Since I have entered here, I think my life is somewhat busy.     I joined NIT Calicut after securing my admission through JOSAA after scoring good marks in examination. I chose this institute since it is near to my home. The campus is so beautiful and every now and then, there is a program in the institute, which I think, does not happen in most institutes.     I chose Electronic and Communication Engineering. I chose this branch as it is in 5th in rank among all the other NITs. The campus life in is so good. Even though we have so much work, life here is very good and calm. You will never regret choosing this one.
