NIT Calicut's Campus Life: Academics and Events

I joined NIT Calicut after securing my admission through JOSAA after scoring good marks in examination. I chose this institute since it is near to my home. The campus is so beautiful and every now and then, there is a program in the institute, which I think, does not happen in most institutes. My first year in this institute was not that hectic it was somewhat calm. I had the opportunity work in the Fashion Media Team and I am grateful for that.

Academics in NIT Calicut are not that tough. The first Sem was easy but most of the students did not study well enough to get good marks. However, the second semester was little bit tougher. Subjects that are more complicated were taught and we had little time to enjoy. I think with every passing Semester the toughness of subjects will increase. We have to write various exams to get good CGPA. Since the academic contain labs and other practical studies it will help you in your real life. Each subject taught here, teaches us to deal with real life challenges.

I am paying fees of Rs. 75,000 per Semester. There are many scholarships available for students of NIT Calicut.

Faculty of NIT Calicut is very good. They use blackboard and PPTs for teaching. Every faculty member has completed his or her PhDs from esteemed institutes. Every one of them is so experienced. Personally, I have good relationships with almost every faculty. You can clear your doubts with them. They will help you in any way they can. Every faculty have helpers under them these guys will help you to solve problems too.

NIT Calicut has one of the most beautiful campuses, stretched across 300 acres. Since the institute is aged more than fifty years, some of the buildings and labs are quite old. Some instruments in the lab are outdated, but rest is technologically advanced. Some area of the campus is covered in jungle, full trees and other things.

NIT Calicut offers a good college life. Since the institute constitutes 50 percentage students from other states, there is lot of different culture in the institute. Many programs also happen here. The major fests of this institute are ‘Ragam’ and ‘Tathva’. For these two programs, the crowd in the campus is very high and everyone enjoys a lot.
