NIT Calicut Campus: Photos, Virtual Tour

NIT Calicut has a quiet large campus with all the facilities like playgrounds, swimming pool, indoor courts etc. Campus area is around 300 acres with 12 gates. It has a very large library with a great collection of books and good accommodation for students to study. My favorite thing about the institute is the seminar hall, which are large and ambient. The institute has primary health centre within the campus and there are buses inside the institute to travel. Special mention is the amphitheatre in the institute, which is a garden and very pleasant.

Campus Life at NIT Calicut is awesome with all the sports facilities, hostels, freedom etc. You can expect around 5000 students in the campus and the campus is not very much crowded. There are many clubs to encourage the extracurricular activities of students. The clubs are very diverse, they provide the students with many opportunities. NIT Calicut is almost 300 acre. It is filled with lush green trees. It is one of the most beautiful NIT institutes in India. The buildings here are old, but they are well maintained. The campus is more than 50 years old. Academic facilities like library, seminar halls, auditorium, conference hall, etc. are well maintained. Library here is easily accessible by students. Sports facilities are not that good compared to other NITs. For transportation college bus runs through the campus frequently. It is free for everyone.

The one thing that sets apart NIT Calicut from other colleges in Kerala is the best college life it offers. There are not many restrictions for students in the institute. The campus is open for 24 hours. There are lot of clubs and home teams here. In home team, only first years can participate and in clubs, first years cannot participate. There is also NSS present. Campus is almost 300 acre. Academic facilities like library, labs, and seminar halls are also present in the campus. The library in the campus is top notch; students can easily make use of the Library until 12 AM. In campus, total there are 3 canteens present, where you can get good snacks and food. However, the labs in the campus are very old and equipment in the labs are little outdated. Campus is nature friendly and so beautiful. Sports facilities in the campus are decent.

Campus life in NIT Calicut is top notch. In Kerala, most of the institutes close after 6 PM but here, the campus is open for 24 hours. We have so many events in the campus every year. Some of them are ‘Ragam’ and ‘Tathva’. For this event, lots of people come to campus to watch the event. All the programs in the campus are conducted by the students.
