Overall Rating
I chose Electronic and Communication Engineering. I chose this branch as it is in 5th in rank among all the other NITs. The campus life in is so good. Even though we have so much work, life here is very good and calm. You will never regret choosing this one. In the beginning, it will take time to catch up with the academics all but you will eventually get hold of it.
 

Academics Rating
I chose Electronic and Engineering in nit Calicut. You need a minimum of 99 percentile in IIT JEE in order to choose this one. There are a lot of exams and assignments in every semester and we have to attend all that to get good CGPA. In contrast to other branches, this branch offer studies that are more practical and less theoretical studies. If we put at least 10% of effort we put in entrance examination, we can easily score good marks here.
The fee of my chosen course is Rs. 75,000. Hostel fee is Rs. 32,000 per semester. If you are certain category, you will get scholarships.
 

Faculty Rating
Faculties are well educated and experienced. They have done PhD in their respective courses. Some of them have done work in corporate fields. This kind of experience will help the students in their career for sure. We have 6 subjects to study per semester. Each subject is taught by different faculty members. Since most of the faculty members are old, they are quite strict.
 

Hostel Rating
Yes, the institute provides hostel facilities. At present, new hostels are also being constructed.
 

Infrastructure Rating
Campus is more than 30 years old. Most of the buildings are also old and in great need of renovation. Nevertheless, there is newly made academic building named ELK, where classrooms and all the facilities are very good. Campus area is 300 acres in total but this 300 acre is not used properly. If used properly campus will be so perfect. Right now new building and hostels are being made in the campus. Library in the campus is very large. Student can easily make use of all the books present there.
 

Campus Rating
Campus life in is top notch. We do not have any restrictions unlike most of the other institutes in Kerala. The campus is open 24/7, so you can do whatever you want in campus. The main events in are ‘Ragam’ and ‘Tathva’. Ragam is south India’s largest cultural fest and famous musicians come for this fest. You can enjoy your life here while studying.

    I joined NIT Calicut after securing my admission through JOSAA after scoring good marks in examination. I chose this institute since it is near to my home. The campus is so beautiful and every now and then, there is a program in the institute, which I think, does not happen in most institutes.     The overall experience here is good. I chose this institute because it was the best I could afford with my rank in JEE main and NIT Calicut provides good placements. The campus is beautiful it is full of trees. I worked hard during my entrance coaching and it was all worth it.     I chose this institute because it is the best one I could get with my rank in JEE. I completed my first year here just a few days ago. It was a wonderful year for me personally. The one thing that sets apart NIT Calicut is its campus life and its surroundings. This year was very good. I got many good new friends. Enjoyed my time with them.     My overall life at NIT Calicut is kind of average. I chose this collage because it is very near to my house. First year was not that tough. We are getting into engineering slowly. Campus life here is so good. That is very different from other collages. In Kerala, many colleges are very strict but this institute gives you complete freedom. You can do whatever you want.
