Securing My Future at NIT Calicut

Overall Rating
The overall experience here is good. I chose this institute because it was the best I could afford with my rank in JEE main and NIT Calicut provides good placements. The campus is beautiful it is full of trees. I worked hard during my entrance coaching and it was all worth it. All the required conditions to grow are provided here, we just need to use them properly and improve our talents.
 

Academics Rating
Currently I am studying Electronics and Communication Engineering and I chose this course because of my rank in JEE mains. To get into this you need a minimum of 99 percentile in JEE main. However, academics here are very strict. You need a minimum attendance of 80 percent in all subjects, which is very tough to maintain. There is a mid sem and end sem along with many internal tests and various quizzes every sem. You have to submit many assignments too.
Fees are Rs. 75,000 per sem. Other than that, on admission you have to pay around 2 Lakh.
 

Faculty Rating
All the faculty members are very well educated, and hold PhDs in their subjects. The faculties teach by writing on the black board and using PPTs. their ability of solving problems is also pretty good. They can easily solve almost all the questions. Most of the faculties are approachable and you can clear all your doubt from them. They also provide various materials to help you complete the course.
 

Placement Rating
Placement here is fine. The highest package is 44 LPA and the average is 9 LPA.
 

Hostel Rating
Hostels are pretty neat and tidy. There are 3 people in a sharing room for first years. The mess food is also good too.
 

Infrastructure Rating
Campus size is over 300 acre. For every course, there are seperate department blocks. The library in the campus is large. You can get all material you need to complete your course from this library. There are 2 large grounds in campus but they are not properly maintained. There are canteens in campus where you can eat tasty meals. Health center is also available in campus, which will be open from 9 AM to 5 PM. Since the campus is beautiful, you can enjoy your free time inside the campus.
 

Campus Rating
Campus life is entertaining in NIT Calicut. Majorly two fests happen here every year. They are ‘Ragam’ and ‘Tathva’. Ragam is south India’s largest cultural fest; people from various place come to the institute for attending these events. There are many engagement activities in the campus. These events are organised by the institute. Clubs like NSS, NCC are also present here. My experience is very good till now. These activities will keep you engaged throughout the year.

    I recently completed my first year in NIT Calicut and I can say that my first year was perfect. You can get admission in NIT Calicut through JOSAA counselling if you have good rank in all India JEE examination. First year was full of enjoyment as academically there is not so much pressure.     I joined NIT Calicut after securing my admission through JOSAA after scoring good marks in examination. I chose this institute since it is near to my home. The campus is so beautiful and every now and then, there is a program in the institute, which I think, does not happen in most institutes.     I chose Electronic and Communication Engineering. I chose this branch as it is in 5th in rank among all the other NITs. The campus life in is so good. Even though we have so much work, life here is very good and calm. You will never regret choosing this one.
