BMSCE is one the top 3 private engineering colleges in Karnataka. The college has rich history and being India's first private engineering college established in 1946 has a great alumni. The college has very good placements and along with the academics they also promote cultural and technical activities along with sports facilities. The faculties are also so good and friendly in nature. The campus area is not so big, but whatever is there is nice and clean and been used effectively. Overall the college is great.

The college provides BE after 2nd PU or 12th by KCET and COMEDK entrance examination. KCET is the government conducted exam which is for students of Karnataka only, where as COMEDK can be written by any student of the country irrespective of their state. The college also takes direct admission by management, but the fees are quite high. The fees through KCET is less compared to other two modes and cost nearly 1 lakh per annum as college fees, college fees through COMEDK is around 2.8 lakh per year and management fees varies according to branch chosen. The college also accepts lateral entry students who should give diploma CET and should get good rank to have the seat in the college.

The faculties are good. Each branch has many faculties, and all the professor are Ph.D holders. Most of the faculties are friendly in nature and guide students in academic things and also non academic things. They provide some ideas to do projects and also co-operate with students whenever they are asked.

The placement cell in the college is really helpful for students. Even to the students who are not so prepared for placement, the placement cell provides guidance to them and trains them to get a good job in a good company.

The hostel in college is quite good. The food is great, they prepare food freshly and many varieties are there. They also provide evening snacks. The college has gym facilities, even they conduct hostel event.

The college has multiple blocks like platinum Jubilee block which is built recently in 2021 in which mainly computer science related branches and some of electronics related branches are there, another is PG block where electrical and other branches are there. There is also mechanical block which has mechanical and aerospace engineering branches. There are multiple canteens in campus. Playgrounds are also available in the college.

The college has quite small campus around 11 acres but it is used effectively; there are trees in all over the campus. The students in the college are amazing who comes from all over the India like Kashmir, Manipur, Uttar Pradesh and many more places across India. There are more than 30 clubs in the college which even includes the social service club like Rotaract and Kannada encouraging club like Chirantana and others. The college conducts two major fests, one is technical fest called Phase shift which is conducted around November and December and the other one is UTSAV the cultural fest which is generally conducted in may. The college also promotes cultural and sports activities along with the academics.
