AEC REVIEW

Overall Rating
Overall I can say that AEC is an esteemed institution with experienced faculties. It provides a good environment to excel technically. Many technical fests and competitions are held here giving a learning experience to the students. It has a wide range of clubs which allow the students to explore many fields like dance, music, coding, space, literature, gaming, entrepreneurship, technical knowledge, etc. All of these made me choose this institution and I feel anyone aspiring to be an engineer can view AEC as a potential institute to pursue a technical degree.
 

Academics Rating
The course duration is 4 years divided into 8 semesters. There are many branches namely Electrical, Civil, Mechanical, Instrumentation, Computer Science, Electronic and Telecommunication, and Industrial Production Engineering. The entry requirement is to qualify the Common Entrance Examination (CEE) conducted by ASTU and then go through the entire process of counseling. Eligibility includes the age limit and 10+2 qualification. The motive for enrolling into this program is to obtain B.Tech degree as an engineer.
 

Faculty Rating
I am from Electrical Engineering Department. The faculties are highly qualified and experienced. They have a keen knowledge of their specialties. They have qualified from top institutes and serve the students with utmost sincerity. Their style of teaching is interactive and easy to understand with a strong communication skills set. This allows the students to gain knowledge about the subjects in the best way possible. Furthermore they are helpful and provide excellent guidance.
 

Placement Rating
Yes there is a training and placement (T&P) cell in the institution. It really helps the students to acquire jobs in their desired industries.
 

Hostel Rating
Yes, there are residential facilities in the institute. It has a total number of 9 well furnished hostels which cater well to the needs of the students. Out of the 9 hostels, 8 are for boys and remaining 1 is for the girls. The hostels have well maintained rooms and mess facilities. They provided recreations halls and playgrounds to the hostel residents for their activities. The overall infrastructure of the hostels is quite well and can accommodate decent number of students.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The infrastructure of the institute is decent with many uplifting and advanced activities going on. It has many departments and an academic block where all the official meets are held including functions. It has many buildings which bear various departments and a well equipped library that provides a good space for self study and it also issues books for the students for each semester.
 

Campus Rating
The overall campus life is very refreshing. It has a canteen that remains full of students every day. It has many clubs in diverse fields providing a learning opportunity for the students who want to explore. The main fest that is held here is Pyrokinesis which involves many competitions arranged by the students and also concerts. Throughout the year many activities are conducted here for the students.

    My overall experience until now in Assam Engineering College is nice. It is an first engineering college of Northeast inaugurated by Jawaharlal Nehru ji.     Assam Engineering College is one of the oldest Engineering college in the entire north east established in 1956 by Jawaharlal Nehru. The college is situated in Guwahati Jalukbari for which students choose AEC to gain some exposure.     My experience in AEC Guwahati is most of time good. With a green campus, the environment of campus is quite cool and calm. The faculty is also good. My experience is not short as I have been here only for 6 months. I chose this college over other state engineering college because it is the oldest Engineering college in northeast.
