My experience at IP College in the past 2 years has been a bitter-sweet one. Like every other college IP also has its virtues and vices, the campus, academics and faculty are excellent wherever the campus life is pretty average only. For students who want to focus mainly on their studies and extra-curricular don't really hold such importance can go for IP, and won't regret it. Though the thing is that IP grows on you eventually and you come to love it.

Admission for B.A (Hons) in IPCW is held through the CUET-UG examination conducted by NTA. The syllabus is well-designed and is prescribed by the University of Delhi itself. Exams are held only at the end of the semester i.e. twice a year preceded by the internals which include assignments, tests, presentations etc. The level of examination is moderate. Papers for the core and GE subjects are checked at university level, elective course papers are checked at college level. Teachers are not overly strict but opinions vary. Attendance of 67.67% is mandatory to maintain as the administration is getting strict about this.

The faculty is all qualified and well-educated in their fields. Almost all of them have doctorate degrees with specialisations. The professors are helpful and always there for students, they respect the students and take into consideration their point of views. Teaching methods make topics interesting and easy to follow the syllabus. Almost no homework is given except for some occasional readings prescribed by the professors for some class discussions.

Yes, IP College has an active placement cell and relevant internship openings are forwarded through the class representatives regularly. The placements though don't mainly concern courses other than B.Com (Hons). For such reasons I’m not in position to comment about that.

IP College has two hostels: one in-campus, KG Hostel and one out-campus, IP hostel. The rooms are in twin-sharing. There is a student union for the hostel students which regularly organises events and festival celebrations for them such as pottery classes, Diwali celebrations, Iftar during Ramadan month, fresher and farewell parties etc. The facilities and food is pretty good too.

Infrastructure is one of the main allure of IP's charm. The historical white building has seen and nurtured many great personalities. The colorful array of flowers brings solace to students' hearts. There are three academic buildings in IP, along with department offices, staff rooms, a three-story library which has all sorts of books, journals and magazines available, a gymnasium, an auditorium, a sports Centre accessible to students without any fee, swimming pool, a sports ground and other aesthetically pleasing sights. The diversity of flora and fauna is one of the main attractions of the college.

Campus life at IP is sadly not that great. Despite being a college of North Campus of DU, it feels more like an off-campus college with little to no involvement in the campus elections and other activities. Kamala Nagar and Vishwidyalaya (North campus of DU) are just a 10-minute ride away and host many activities and fests for students to experience campus life. The annual cultural fest SHRUTI is very low-key and is open for IP-students only. There are different societies for dance, music, debate, dramatics, fine arts, seminars, lectures, and conferences are held regularly on diverse topics.
