Review on IIIT Surat

Overall Rating
I am student of IIIT Surat in Computer Science. IIIT Surat is mostly tech specific college. There are only 2 branches CSE and ECE. But main thing is that there is only tech culture in this college. no one talk about core so if any one who got low rank and want to study in tech and got ECE in this college can take admission freely because here is mostly tech culture. Average package of CSE and ECE is almost same.
 

Academics Rating
I am CSE student so I can talk about only CSE course. Course of this college is updated 2 years before. The course is modern and branch specific.
 

Faculty Rating
There are not enough faculty members for student so sometimes there are teaching problems. And the behavior of faculty members is good. The teaching style of some faculty members is good. But some faculty is not experienced so that is the problem. They will guide and support students for their carrier. There is some permanent faculty and some are working on contract basis.
 

Placement Rating
Yes, there is a placement cell in my college. I have currently passed 2nd year so I don’t have enough knowledge about that but yet number of companies approaching to college is reducing due to recession. Average package is also reduced but placement cell is active.
 

Hostel Rating
Yes our college provides hostel facility but problem is that they provide private hostel out of the campus on contract basis and provide transport facility. That hostel facilities are not so good. If you can manage here, then there is no problem.
 

Infrastructure Rating
Our college shifted to own land but there is not any type of infrastructure. They say that we will work on it but currently there are only 6 classrooms and 6 labs in my college. An office and a canteen are also available in the campus. The college also has a very small library.
 

Campus Rating
The college life is not so good here. There are some clubs in the college that created an entertaining and engaging environment for students. These clubs includes GDSC, Ruminate, LCS, Saras, Cineworks and a debate clubs.

    I like IIIT Surat because it is an Institute of National Importance, which is very good for my career in future. The placement scene is improving year by year because good companies are visiting the campus. Surat weather is also another plus point which made me choose this particular institute.     The Indian Institute of Information Technology Surat is still in its developing phase. The campus and its overall infrastructure is average. The campus is very small. Apart from this there is an issue with number of faculties also as most of them are on temporary basis. But on the other hand the coding culture is quite decent and there are a lot of clubs to explore. The placement is average.     To be honest, IIIT Surat wasn't first priority of mine. After counseling it was the best college I could have got at my rank. My experience in college is great till now. I am accompanied with very talented students overall India. Seniors here are very helpful and approachable, which is one of the best things here. Also there are various active clubs here, which makes it easy for students who also want to follow their passions. Overall I am having great time here.... Read Full Review

    Overall the experience is average. The institute does not lack in facilities or equipment. However the institute has become stagnant over a period of about 2 years. The institute has not progressed beyond that. There is no lacking in facilities in the institute which is a plus point. But, the lack of institutional hostel facilities, placement and recent faculty inclusions somewhat degrade overall experience.
