About HPU From My Point Of View

Overall Rating
The study experience here is really different. Most of the time when you are in Shimla one don't need fans on ceiling and there is vast range of forests which makes you addicted to nature. Institute is pretty old and it's said that Mahatma Gandhi stayed there in Shimla which also make it a historical building but it's not that maintained by government due to insufficient funds.
 

Academics Rating
One can go in UILS by simply submitting the interview form on HPU official site. As we are admitted on the basis of merit in 12th and there is not any extra exam after 12th for taking admission. There are some seats reserved for SC, ST, OBC and HPU member students as per Himachal Pradesh Government norms.
 

Faculty Rating
Faculty is really good in teaching as most of them are Ph.D holders but they are very strict to the codes like to wear proper dress with hairstyle to be normal and there teaching methods are also more bookish as compared with digital classes and court visits that is field knowledge of law.
 

Placement Rating
There is not any placement cell in college most of students have their relatives or parents with Law profession so they are free to take over their family business.
 

Hostel Rating
Hostels are not available for undergraduate degree holders so we need to stay at our own pace.
 

Infrastructure Rating
Infrastructure is really old but government doesn’t provide necessary funds for college while they are building new college or block for law. Government should try to repair the present one also for present students. On the other side building is historical also and is the only government law college in Shimla.
 

Campus Rating
Environment around will be really nice. Compared with other private colleges your fees will be really less. There is not much fest for our college but there is an annual fest and sports meet and some other out of college tour every year. Social clubs are not present in the college. All students try together to organise the function so for that they may also charge you some extra like 1-2k.

    As it is a government institute it is costly but not as compared with other private colleges. Overall our college is in a very beautiful location and also it has a good reputation. If you want to study in a nature loving environment than please go for it but beware that you will need to walk too much in order to attend the classes.... Read Full Review

  • My take on HPU academics and diversity

    Getting into HPU was like a dream come true. I visited HPU while I was in bed for seminars and fests and this college is humungous with its faculty in the north. You get to study from the best from their days and excelling students. It took me second counseling to get my seat in the college. I had an exam for which I prepared for months and only so I was able to clear it. The college recruitments was smooth I had no trouble and got my result at home.... Read Full Review

    Himachal Pradesh University is well known as HPU to every student. It is one of the famous universities in North India and I have been a part of this university. It is a huge campus and mostly every course is available there, and they prepare you for the IAS.
