My take on HPU academics and diversity

Overall Rating
Getting into HPU was like a dream come true. I visited HPU while I was in bed for seminars and fests and this college is humungous with its faculty in the north. You get to study from the best from their days and excelling students. It took me second counseling to get my seat in the college. I had an exam for which I prepared for months and only so I was able to clear it. The college recruitments was smooth I had no trouble and got my result at home.
 

Academics Rating
My whole academics went in covid so all my classes and periods were held on zoom which were as good as offline classes. We had a daily of 4 classes of an hour long with equal break of 15mins in between. Teachers did not just read out the syllabus but they were quite interactive with us during these times. Since I was covid positive twice in 2 years my teachers were supportive and gave me abundance of time to cover my syllabus. My ultimate goal was to become a lecturer and with that my teachers helped me with guidance and exam too.
 

Faculty Rating
I was studying master in humanities which was majorly theoretical and so my teachers were great with the subjects we were allowed to record the classes and prepare from them during our exams and in future too. All my teachers were seniors but they were available for any queries at any time of the day. They supported us abundantly and would also give extra class to students who had to suffer due to covid 19.
 

Placement Rating
Since our college and classes were all online we only had 2-3 online seminars for campus recruitments but I had a bad internet so was unable to apply to any of the campus recruitment jobs though many children did appear for interviews from my batch and were selected. There were less from humanities and more from science and commerce background who were majorly preferred by the recruiters.
 

Hostel Rating
Got no chance to live and enjoy the hostel life due to corona but I did visit it and they had these amazing rooms and washrooms. But thankfully got no chance to enjoy the hostel food, lol.
 

Infrastructure Rating
HPU is very much like the best of architectural building present in Shimla. It was constructed in old times and so they are very well maintained buildings. We have a whole huge library which I would have loved to study in. But there are big stage and auditoriums, in built cafe canteen and shops. On Sundays HPU is open to tourists for visiting and enjoying the late architecture.
 

Campus Rating
I did not get to live the ultimate campus life but I made good friends with my classmates and lecturers in the online classes. We had monthly seminars held online these were not compulsory to attend but if you would you would get a better assessment for sure. Would definitely visit HPU during my convocation.

    HPU Shimla has excellent infrastructure as it offers various academic and noon-academic facilities to the students.   • About HPU From My Point Of View
     

    Overall Rating
    The study experience here is really different. Most of the time when you are in Shimla one don't need fans on ceiling and there is vast range of forests which makes you addicted to nature. Institute is pretty old and it's said that Mahatma Gandhi stayed there in Shimla which also make it a historical building but it's not that maintained by government due to insufficient funds....     As it is a government institute it is costly but not as compared with other private colleges. Overall our college is in a very beautiful location and also it has a good reputation. If you want to study in a nature loving environment than please go for it but beware that you will need to walk too much in order to attend the classes.... Read Full Review

    Himachal Pradesh University is well known as HPU to every student. It is one of the famous universities in North India and I have been a part of this university. It is a huge campus and mostly every course is available there, and they prepare you for the IAS.
