Christ University Delhi NCR B.Sc Review By Niveditha Cherukattu

Christ University, Delhi NCR campus offers a well rounded educational experience, with its state of art infrastructure, on campus facilities and a vibrant campus life. Although there are certain areas that need improvement. The university however stands out as a strong contender amongst others in the educational field. The courses within the campus are effectively taught and each of the courses provides extensive infrastructural facilities for its students as well as faculty members. Christ University has strict regulations towards maintaining students' attendance, while providing various on campus opportunities for their growth and development. There are certain drawbacks in matters of placements and courses, but that is only because the Delhi campus has only been recently established. As for its time course, the college comes a long way in ensuring its students' education, while enhancing college life experiences.

The process of application and enrollment is same throughout all courses in the university. After applying, the students are required to give the CUET (Christ University Entrance Test), following which, the shortlisted students are supposed to appear for the Skill Assessment, Micro Presentation and finally the Personal Interview. The students applying to the University are supposed to have completed their higher secondary education and should have studied the relevant subjects to be taken up further in college. The B.Sc. program in Christ University is particularly academically inclined and all the B.Sc. programs at the NCR campus have a compulsory internship every summer. The B.Sc courses are rigorously designed to test the practical knowledge of students, and the internship experience adds to it. There are various interesting double major courses within B.Sc. including Economics and Math, Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, and so on. The students can refer the academic brochure of the university for the same. Also note that the admission processes are same for all campuses of Christ. You simply have to add your campus preference within the application form and if eligible, they'll provide you admission in the campus of your choice.

The faculty of Christ is all well trained and educated in their respective fields of teaching. All faculties within Christ University hold a doctorate and are rigorously experienced in their respective sectors. The faculty is well inclined to providing practical and hands on knowledge to the students of the university. All faculties are really helpful. Talking about the faculty of the School of Sciences, all are well experienced and really helpful in all aspects, be it internships or placement. The faculty of Christ University also organizes corporate talks every now and then. Overall, the faculty of Christ is well experienced in their respective fields.

Like every university, Christ also has a Placement Cell within it. The placements at Christ have been rated 3.7/5 by various open sources. Since the Delhi campus has only been established recently, I cannot tell you exactly about placement opportunities. However the last passed out batches of Sciences were recruited by companies like Genpact, EY etc. Many postgraduate students of the university were hired by Barclays, Grand Thornton and so on. Overall, for a comparatively new campus, I would rate the campus placements as being 'average'. However, the college is currently in the process of calling out many other major companies. The highest package offered, I believe is somewhere around 15 LPA.

The university provides hostel facilities to girls as well as boys. Christ University Delhi NCR has two affiliated hostels of their own. The hostel facilities are above average. For the girl’s hostel, there is St. Mary's and it offers triple sharing and single sharing rooms to the students of the university. I am not sure about the boy’s hotel, but it is similar and they also have options of triple sharing as well as double sharing. Overall, my friends were averagely satisfied with hostel facilities. The wardens of the hostel are quite strict with following rules and regulations within hostels. Both hostels I believe have a curfew time of 10:00 PM. Food facilities are not available within the hostel, and students are expected to dine in the campus itself as the hostels are not placed far from the campus (about 2 mins walk only).

The campus has two blocks and a third block is currently under construction. Both the blocks have their respective auditoriums, seminar halls, cafeterias and so on. The campus has a large turf with underground parking. There is also an outlet of Domino's, Cafe Coffee Day and Gianis within the campus. The students also have access to a beautiful rooftop cafe and a fresheteria to dine in. There are a lot of dining options available within the campus, be it north Indian food, south Indian, Chinese and the list goes on. Overall, the campus has a lot of amenities within it and is really beautiful overall. I would rate the infrastructure of the campus a 4.5/5. Also, the campus is further being modified to accommodate more students within the upcoming years. Hence the NCR campus provides a promising infrastructural facility for its students.

Every semester is filled with a lot of events, fests, and other engagement workshops. We have an ethnic day every year. Various departmental, inter departmental and inter-college events are organised throughout the year. I believe every event gathers its own crowd and the campus is bustling with an event every now and then and students are actively engaged in all activities throughout the academic year. Students can take be a part of various clubs. There is a student welfare organisation which includes the university dance team, university choir team, instrumental team, creative teams, centers for social action, and many more. The students can be a part of more than one clubs at a time and each club in engaging and fun filled in its own ways. Within the past few months, the campus has also seen various concerts take place, alongside TedX events and many more.
