My views on Goa Medical College

Overall Rating
My experience has been an amazing one at Goa Medical College. I chose this college as it has a good record and exemplary faculty. Moreover, it is closer to my family. Others should choose Goa Medical College because it not only has excellent infrastructure and facilities but also has an exemplary faculty who teach with all their experience and expertise. The college offers a lot of early clinical exposure right from the start and prepares us for our future.
 

Academics Rating
The course curriculum is competency-based and includes group discussions, clinical and practical demonstrations, self directed learning, etc. It is a 5 year course including 1 year of internship. The eligibility criteria are classes 10+2 with minimum 50% in PCB (Physics, Chemistry, and Biology). The selection is based on the NEET UG scores.
 

Faculty Rating
The faculty is commendable and ensures that each and every student receives attention and guidance. The faculty is highly qualified with impressive credentials in their respective fields. They teach in a very engaging manner providing insights that extend beyond theoretical concepts. They're also and approachable and patient. Students can ask questions anytime even after class.
 

Placement Rating
There are no placements. However, the course provides an internship program.
 

Hostel Rating
Hostel facilities are provided. The infrastructure is excellent. The rooms are clean and well maintained. Hostel life is good. Recreational activities are provided to hostel residents. The only area requiring improvements is the mess.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The campus provides modern infrastructure and facilities including well-equipped laboratories, libraries, reading room, and lecture halls. The lecture halls are air-conditioned and equipped with state-of-the-art amenities like smart board and projectors. The lecture hall complex is in close proximity to the clinics making travel easier and less time consuming. Safety and security is also given utmost priority with CCTV cameras present almost everywhere along with provisions of fire extinguishers on each floor.
 

Campus Rating
Campus life is very lively. The college hosts medical conference (Gomecon) and intercollegiate events like (Plexus) and also participated in other college events annually. Apart from that, several cultural events are organised in the college. There are several student-run clubs for dance, photography, sports, literature, etc.

    So basically this college has many different courses like MBBS, BPT, BOT, etc. I went for BPT that is Bachelor of Physiotherapy which is a 4 year course and then there is 6 months internship. Professors are very much knowledgeable and they teach really nice. And of course we have an attached hospital so we get to see lots of patients every day. Every day we learn about new cases and how to treat such patients.... Read Full Review

    Goa Medical College is the oldest colleges in Asia also one of the first. The newly opened super specialty block has a wide range of departments and offers a great exposure to students who want to develop their clinical skills.
