Insights at the Life at Goa Medical College and Hospital

Overall Rating
So basically this college has many different courses like MBBS, BPT, BOT, etc. I went for BPT that is Bachelor of Physiotherapy which is a 4 year course and then there is 6 months internship. Professors are very much knowledgeable and they teach really nice. And of course we have an attached hospital so we get to see lots of patients every day. Every day we learn about new cases and how to treat such patients.
 

Academics Rating
First of all, choose PCB in 11th and then NEET is the entrance exam for entering into any medical course. Admission is based on state counselling. In this course we get clinical experience from 1st year itself. We learn about medicine subject + physiotherapy subjects. The exam pattern is semester wise like first we have terminal exams and then prelims and then university exams which include both theory and practical separately.
A general category fee at Goa Medical College and Hospital for my course is Rs. 21,000 per semester. The candidate belonging to OBC, ST and SC get 50% concession. There are also pg seats available.
 

Faculty Rating
Professors at Goa Medical College and Hospital are the best. They are very knowledgeable and they teach really nice. Most of them have Ph.D degree and are very kind to students. They conduct regular tests so that we get prepared for our university exams. They provide us with notes, ppts, etc. They also take us for clinical postings in other government hospitals and health center in the state. So overall, everything is fine and I would also like to mention about seniors they are also very helpful.
 

Placement Rating
We have to do 6 months internship after completing 4 years of this course.
 

Hostel Rating
Hostel facilities are available within the campus of Goa Medical College and Hospital.
 

Infrastructure Rating
Campus is very nice with 1 library which provides us with all the required books and study materials like question papers, etc. We also have a book bank in our library. In the college hospital, there are many OPDs and wards like Neurology, Neurosurgery, Medicine, Pediatrics, Orthopedics, General Surgery, etc. We also have laboratories like Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Pathology, Microbiology, Pharmacology, Community Medicine, Histology, etc. we also have college canteen which provides us hygienic food.
 

Campus Rating
Main event is PLEXUS which happens every year and it's really amazing We have lot of fun activities like dance competition, singing competition, 3rd degree, fashion show, games, dj night etc. All other colleges in the state participate in this event and compete with each other. There are also other events like annual gathering and fresher’s party, farewell party, etc. We also get to participate in other college’s events and tournament in which we represent Goa Medical College and Hospital.

    My experience has been an amazing one at Goa Medical College. I chose this college as it has a good record and exemplary faculty. Moreover, it is closer to my family. Others should choose Goa Medical College because it not only has excellent infrastructure and facilities but also has an exemplary faculty who teach with all their experience and expertise.
