The overall experience of this institute is just good. This is one of a best engineering college in Kerala. I pursued B.Tech in VLSI. I have chosen this college because of the placement given by the college to its students. Also this college is situated in a well known city, Kochi. So I also recommend this institute to my friend.

This institute provides various B.Tech courses like Computer Science & Engineering, Computer Science and Business Systems, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Electronics & Bio-Medical Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics Engineering VLSI Design and Technology. Among these Electronics Engineering VLSI is the latest one. The students are enrolled into these various programs on the basis of their KEAM rank. This college also has NRI quota. The faculties are well qualified professionals in their field. This college also provides various M.Tech courses. Most of the students studying in this college are having a KEAM rank 1-10000.

I am doing B.Tech graduation in Electronics Engineering VLSI Design and Technology. This is the latest course in this college. The faculties in this college are well trained and experienced in their field. Most of the faculties are qualified from premier institutes in India. They pursue a combined and effective teaching style. Sometimes they are friendly but sometimes they are very strict.

Yes, Govt. Model Engineering College, Kochi has an active placement cell. Many students opted this college because of the placement. The eligible students of third and fourth years are the members of the placement cell. The most of the engineers working in Kochi are former students of Model Engineering College. So they also help the students to acquire jobs in the industry. This institute is located near to the IT hubs which is also the major cause for placements.

Govt. Model Engineering College has only boy's hostel which is located in the college compound itself. The college hostel is cheaper when compared to other hostels. The food menu is also better.

The worst thing about this college is its infrastructure. The college is situated 3 km away from Edappally which is highly populated, which is a good thing. So we don't feel any disturbance from the city. When I came to this college I felt sad about how small this college is. Due to the small size of the college the communication and socialization between students of different classes become much easier.

In my opinion the campus life in Govt. Model Engineering College is good. I felt worth of studying in this college because the fees are comparatively less. The college is giving a better placement than a 90 percent of the other colleges in Kerala. Excel is the annual national techno-managerial festival conducted by MEC, which is conducted under the supervision of our seniors. There are many clubs like TEDxMEC, IEEE, IETE, FOSS MEC, Hack club, Thinker hub and non technical clubs like Illuminati, Bhoomithrasena, NSS, etc. Also there is arts and sports festival annually. Despite the small size of the campus, there is large number of clubs in the campus.
