TCET: A Complete Review

Overall Rating
This institute was the best option for me as it had the best faculties. It has a big campus, air-conditioned classrooms, air-conditioned reading room, big library with multiple books from varied fields and various authors, etc. Every group of 20 students has a personal mentor looking after their needs which is another plus point for the students.
 

Academics Rating
This institute offers various engineering courses including Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, IT Engineering, and many more. One can get admitted in this institute through one of 2 ways either through JEE score or through MHT-CET score. Most students get through MHT-CET score. The cut-off for boys general category is around 96% and lesser for other categories. One should apply with the motive of learning and securing a better future for themselves.
 

Faculty Rating
The faculties are good with most having a master’s degree and an experience of over 10-20 years, where some of the faculties even have done their masters from IIT which is an achievement in itself. All the faculties are friendly and treat students with care and respect. They even teach in a friendly light-hearted manner having a good demeanor with the students.
 

Placement Rating
TCET Mumbai has its own placement cell that offers 100% placement for all students having CGPA >7 and marks >75% in 12th. Big companies such as JP Morgan Chase & Co visit every year to recruit students from this institute. The salary package can be as high as 18 LPA with an average being around 5 LPA or more. All students that diligently work hard always get placed in TCET. It is a record since the institute was established.
 

Hostel Rating
TCET Mumbai has hostel facility for students coming from far areas to study. The rent and cost is very affordable for students and also compared to the facilities which they have. The infrastructure is good, the rooms are clean, and the mess offers fresh quality Indian food which tastes just like at home. Hostel students are also safe in the premises since there are guards always watching over their safety. The buildings are clean and get renovated from time to time.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The infrastructure is way more than just decent. With air-conditioned classrooms and spacious and air-conditioned reading room where students can study with peace. All classrooms are ventilated. It is a 7-storey building with elevators installed (6-7 elevators) so the elevators are not rushed and mostly empty and easily accessible, there are also stairs. The college has an auditorium as well which is very spacious and can accommodate a large number of students at the same time and is used for addressing guest appearances and fests.
 

Campus Rating
The campus is pretty big with a garden in between where students can study or just relax as there are trees as well in that garden it is cleaned every day. The crowd at TCET is very helpful, well behaved, and well mannered. No one is ever mean. There are multiple clubs for example The TCET green club, TCET Shastra Coding Club, etc. Multiple fests take place throughout the year including Zephyr, Tarangan, and others around the months of February and November. There are also sports competitions like cricket, football, and many more.

    Well, they aren't as good as they advertise themselves to be. If you go and check Google reviews you will see people appreciating them a lot but take it with a pinch of salt. They charged us full fees even during the pandemic while the other colleges slashed theirs out of concern. It felt less like a college and more like a school because of their 75% attendance rule.     I was a student of TCET and will give an honest review so that no one is fooled ever. Thakur College of Engineering and Technology has this knack for intervening in every single matter that a student wants to do on his/her own. In 1 sentence there is no scope of growth at all at this college. Thakur Engineering College believes that lectures will give you more experience than the workshop.
