AISSMS College of Engineering cut off is high, I scored 96% in MHT CET

I'm currently studying in second year. Our college's teaching faculty is particularly good. I've heard from my cousin that in college you don't really understand anything that they teach, but in my perspective all of our teachers are good except 1 or 2 exceptions. The campus area is good and there is no ragging between students as well.

I'm doing BE in Computer Engineering. I have scored 96.32% in MHT CET exams and got admitted to this college. I was always interested in computers so I wanted to pursue Computer Engineering. For enrolling in our college one would need high score. The cutoff is displayed on the official website. Also many seminars were conducted in our first year by our college and seniors to guide us through our journey of engineering. I found that really helpful.

As I'm currently in second year only so I cannot write for all the faculty members. But the faculty members of 1st year were amazing. They were friendly but also strict at times. They joke with you but also punish you if you are misbehaving while they are teaching. And I think that is necessary. Whenever I ask any doubts to my teachers, they'd listen to me patiently and clear it. Of course there were times when I got scolded for giving wrong answers as well. But it's all for good I'd say. And there were 1-2 teachers whose teaching I could not understand. Might be because I didn't like that subject either.

We do have a placement cell at our institute. When we entered in second year that is when we also entered our department from first year department. We were added in the placement groups for our department. We'd get some updates about internship opportunities there. As for placements I'm not really sure. I've heard about a few students getting placed but I didn't really enquire deeper into it.

Yes we do have hostels for our college. I'm staying at hostel currently. This hostel is around 1.2 kilometers from our college and we have another hostel which is around 8 kilometers from our college but that college has a bus provided by our college. We have 2 times meal per day and snacks in the morning and evening.

We have library and reading room. You can go and read any book in the library or take a book back home by submitting your library card. I've taken some books from library. And in the reading room we can go and study or even use it for group discussion. But the structure of our college can be quite confusing to newcomers. There are numbers specified on each class but sometimes you just don't remember which way would be shorter. Also there are 4 floors but no lift for students.

I'd say our campus life is average. We do have clubs for coding, magazine, drawing, music, etc. But there are not many events held by them. Our annual fest is Shivanjali. For this year, it was amazing, I loved it but would have liked if it was there for a few more days. Other than that there are hackathons and some other contests. We also have engineer's day and it is widely celebrated in our college. Each department organises various games and activities for students.
