Is Kamala Nehru College worth it?

Honestly I got this college because I messed up my preference list as every other NEP batch kid back in 2022. I thought it won’t be worth it and I’d regret it for the next three years. But not only this college is worthy but is so underrated. Even though the campus is not that big, probably smaller than most of our schools but this college is as good as any other DU College. Even though there aren’t any unique courses being offered to make it special nor any science degree is to be pursued but the existing courses have amazing faculty and trust me you won’t regret coming here. The crowd is diverse and you’ll find people from almost every corner of the country. Once you find your group that matches your vibe then there’s no going back. The societies are an amazing place to find likeminded people and the fests / events are pretty decent too. The placement cell is very good and you can find amazing opportunities to brush up / use your skills. Situated in south campus, places like HKV, Safdarjung Enclave, etc. can be your favorite hangout places as they are super near our college.

I’m getting a major degree in English and a minor one in Marketing. The faculty is pretty decent I’d say the teachers are super supportive and understanding at least in my department. Most of them don’t really care about attendance but maintaining it good would be a plus point when it’s about assignments. Classes are interesting and interactive and rarely get cancelled. However, the time table is poorly made, gaps of 2-3 hours is pretty normal.

The faculty is pretty good. Teachers are supportive and understanding. You can literally have a chat with them on any common topic that interests you. Most of them are either Ph.D holders or with good master’s degrees from reputed colleges. Some of them honestly are not that friendly but on another note majority of them is fun to be around.

The placement cell of KNC is pretty active. Most of my classmates got internships through it. Forms with proper information and eligibility are often circulated on WhatsApp groups. It is the easiest way to land jobs and internship opportunities around your interests.

Nope, no hostel facility is available. However there are multiple PGs around college, most of them are quite affordable considering the South Delhi situation and are at a walking distance from the college campus.

We have one building only and one is under construction. The library is well equipped and we have all sorts of labs even though they aren’t as big as other colleges. The canteen is good, and it has a Nescafe cafe too. The field is nicely maintained and the best part is Chaupal where you’ll mostly spend your winter days. Not to mention the college pet dogs and cats.

The campus life is what made me think positively of my college after a couple of months honestly. It has active clubs and societies. The fests are average not that great but they serve the purpose. The elections happen smoothly and every other day some or the other event is happening whether it’s a seminar, lecture or competition. The crowd is diverse and mostly friendly and supportive. The department clubs are active too.
