The real review of IIT Kanpur

Overall Rating
The overall experience of IIT Kanpur is good. Although currently I am a second year UG student at IIT Kanpur, but whatever I know it is quite good as compare to other IITs. The rooms in IIT Kanpur are not good. Water supply is not good, you will not find water everywhere in the campus sometimes you have to search it. I chose this college because of my JEE Advanced rank and it is close to my hometown. If you want to join this college you can consider the factor that is placements statistics, campus, and academics. But, academics of IIT Kanpur are very tough and not easy.
 

Academics Rating
Initially when we entered in the college we thought the college life will be chill in the terms of academics and other stuff, because we saw in the videos that after getting into IIT everything will we set but 99% of the were wrong. If you are in the IIT Kanpur than you have to study a lot to get above average marks because the academics of IIT Kanpur is very tough. My department is Aerospace Engineering, it has world class facilities like wind tunnel facilities and Air strips the only IIT who had these things. To enter in this course, you have to qualify JEE Advanced and Mains both.
 

Faculty Rating
The faculty of IIT Kanpur is top class. All the faculties have experience and doctorate degree. Some of them have completed their doctorate in India and foreign. Faculties are well educated and highly productive, but not all the teachers are good. The style of teaching come by experience so 3 to 5 year experience. Teachers are very good, but older teacher do not teach with that enthusiasm, and the style of teaching is like basic to advance.
 

Placement Rating
I think you have watched that video in which someone said that 100% placement of IIT Kanpur; this was happened in the 2021 only. Currently, the situation is different the placement of IIT Kanpur is not up to the mark even some of students have left the college without any packages. Although there is a placement cell, which is mainly controlled by the student. It helps the candidates who are going to sit in the placement drive.
 

Hostel Rating
The hostel of IIT Kanpur is one of the bad thing no AC and the fans in the hostel. The hostel of IIT Kanpur is like that 30% student does not live in their rooms they only come to their rooms for sleeping in the night. UG students’ hostels are very old. Although, there are inter-hall competitions.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The academic and residential blocks are separate. The academic building and infrastructure is very high tech, air conditioned and high speed Wi-Fi availability. Most of the student spent their time in the academic area like classes, library, and all stuff.
 

Campus Rating
The campus life of IIT Kanpur is very good. There are many things where you can spend your time like CCD, OAT and can wonder in the campus. The crowd in the campus is high because public outside the campus are also allowed. There are too many clubs in the institute. You can chose any clubs according to your niche. The fests of the institute are also good like Antaragani, Techkiriti, and Udhghosh.
