National University of Study and Research in Law hostel rooms are good and spacious

Considering it to be an upper tier 3 NLU, the experience one gets is quite good. Although the opportunities won't be same as any tier 1 or tier 2 NLUs but definitely it's going to be better than many other private colleges. You get sufficient scopes to excel and your NLU tag also helps to secure many internships. Overall, it's a good experience.

So you have to clear CLAT for entering in this college and in your first year you will be having just theories and legal history for legal subjects. In total you get six subjects for your 1st year. Academic pressure is surely high with lengthy syllabus for all subjects. It's very necessary to make a habit to study on a daily basis so that you don't confuse yourselves during exams. All the exams are held without any gap in between so you really won't get much time to learn during exams. So, it's necessary to avoid last minute preparation if you want to score good marks. Along with that checking is also done in a quite strict manner. The way to perform best is getting things done on time. Be it project or tests just get it done by the assigned dates. But, the pressure you get here actually builds you up for your job environment which everyone has to face later. So, that is surely a perk of being in a NLU.

The faculties are good. They are ready to help if you approach them. Classes are held on a regular basis and all theory portions are explained. Most of the faculties are highly educated in their subjects although you have to experience some who may not have a strong background in their subjects, but still no one is too bad. You can freely ask your doubts they won't mind re-explaining the things. Apart from the classes you can also approach them in their personal chambers for any doubt. Some faculties use display boards and projectors for teaching and some just teach verbally.

We have a placement cell in our university, which helps to secure placements. Our recent passing out batch has also secured placements through the committee. But as I have already mentioned it's a upper tier 3 NLU so don't expect getting placed in tier 1 firms through the placement cell. Of course you can yourself manage to get a PPO for tier 1 firms and many have done so. Otherwise you can surely expect to get a moderate placement opportunity from the cell. Now the cell has started to function more effectively so for any new student till the time they pass out the cell would definitely perform much better and bring better opportunities.

Yes, it's completely residential. There are separate hostels for boys and girls. In your first year you get a double sharing room, but from second year onwards you will get single rooms. Rooms are good and spacious with attached balconies. There are two common washrooms in each floor. Room cleaning is also available on a daily basis, but you have to get it done by calling the staff once you see them in your floor. Also there is a gym and badminton courts in each hostel. You also get a separate study room in both the hostels. Sometimes there are some cleanliness issues which are common for almost every hostel but it gets sorted once you inform. You have to enter the hostels by 11 pm daily.

We have a huge area but unfortunately there are only four buildings. Academic block, girls’ hostel, boys’ hostel, and mess. Library is there inside the academic block itself. So you get the necessary infrastructure, but it's not something lavish. You can expect it to get improved in the coming years. As we have ample space but due to lack of funding buildings have not been built.

Campus life truly depends on friends you make. Once you get a good company you will feel the best. It's very necessary that you have some good friends within the campus because the campus is at the outskirts of Ranchi and you won't get the opportunity to have much fun outside. If you have good friends you can enjoy in the campus. There are lots of programs held by the cultural club on occasional days. We also have Abhirbhaav, which is our annual fest. Other than that there are occasional sports competitions. Crowd is mixed. You have to get yourself with the ones you feel matches your vibe. There are all kinds of people from some being completely studious to some being unbothered. There is bus facility given by the college for going to the market.
