Delhi College of Arts and Commerce, as the name suggests, is a DU south campus college specializing in arts and commerce courses. The decently sized campus is divided into two buildings, one for arts students and one for commerce. It was placed 8th on my preference list and I had only filled top 10 colleges for English honors in DU, so I was content with my allotment. If you are someone who is looking for a college that is in a posh location, with plethora of activities to do in and around the college, I’d definitely recommend putting it on the top of your list. I had researched about the professors and they seemed well equipped with Ph.D to help us learn, which is why I locked the list as soon as I got allotted this college.

I gave an entrance exam and got allotted a college through my preference list. The eligibility of all courses is given in the list by NTA and one can easily find it on the website and choose subjects whose exams are to be given. There are special criteria for SC / ST reserved seats which shall be checked. PwD category students should also check accessibility of campus before filling preference list. There is no GD / PI so students must be well prepared for the objective question based exams. Those who are interested in literature and reading must go for English honors. it also equips you well with research and report writing skills.

The faculty is well acquired with masters and Ph.D to be able to teach complicated topics with ease and teach in-depth. They are very dedicated in teaching subjects of their domains and give students hands on experience of literary movements that lead to the evolution of modern literature. They also regularly take class tests and oral tutorials to check for understanding.

Yes, we have a placement cell in our college. They take a minimal fee and help students in getting internship opportunities in their desired fields, apart from which, they also keep posting free internships for summer vacations. Mostly the commerce students get placed as interns with PPO of up to ₹20, 00,000 in companies like EY and KPMG.

No, there is no residential facility in our college due to its limited campus size. Though, it is very close to posh areas like Safdarjung enclave and green park that offer good PGs and flats, ARD complex and Satya Niketan are also just a metro station away and they have affordable living options.

The building is old and quite small in size, but the bright colors and open sky make it scenic. The two buildings face each other and have their own dedicated features like MPH, committee rooms, Girls common room, gym, library and more. There is also a gym, TT room and common ground where sports like basketball, volleyball, football and cricket are played.

The crowd is a mix of Delhi-NCR students and students from other states. There are multiple societies in areas of poetry, dramatics, music, dance, debate, advertising, commerce, marketing, NSS and fashion. Since we cannot have a huge fest due to the civil servants’ society behind us, the restriction does not stop each individual society from hosting its own fest with a dedicated theme, so there are about 10-11 fests over 2-3 months that allow for us to have many famous personalities visit our college. The extracurricular activities also keep the students engaged.
