Jadavpur University B.Tech Review By Arpan Barua

Jadavpur University is one of the well known universities in West Bengal and all over India. Its NIRF ranking is 3rd. It provides best infrastructure, faculty, fests, placements and education. I dreamt to study in this university ever since my childhood and I studied very hard to achieve my dream. I scored good rank in entrance exam and through counseling round finally got my dream university. It provides a vast range of courses in Engineering department and all of them are good.

To get admission in this university, you have to get good rank in WBJEE examination and can get this university's different engineering branches through counseling. I have opted for BE in Instrumentation and Electronics Engineering because of my compassion for electronics. Electronics is our core subject along with Instrumentation. In every semester, we got Electronics and Instrumentation related subjects like Digital Electronics, Analog Integrated Circuits, Electronics Circuits, and Circuit Theory, etc. The classes are held on time along with labs sessions.

The faculty members are very good, approachable, and helpful. They help in every aspect like scholarship problem, academics, etc. The teachers have completed their education from the reputed IITs and are best in their subjects. They teach us in the best way possible. They also conduct class tests on a regular basis which helps us during the exams. They also refer us to the best books and study material.

From 7th semester, students are eligible to take placement sessions and for internship from 4th semester. Many companies visit to give placement: in the field of Coding companies like Google, Amazon, Microsoft, Siemens, Wells, Fargo, Schrodinger, Airbus, etc. This year, highest package was 56 LPA in coding. In the field of core companies like Texas Instrumentation, Micron, etc. visit the campus. This year highest core package was 26 LPA. Almost all the students got placement this year. The placement cell has staff from each and every department to bring all the good companies for recruitment in the campus.

Hostel is very good very neat and clean with total of 5 floors. Each floor has 2 bathrooms and nearly about 25 single rooms. Hostel has its own mess, playground, basketball court, football ground and cricket ground. Hostel mess provides quality food two times a day. Hostel is also not that high. The hostel fees is very less which is Rs. 250 per month.

Each and every department of the university is equipped with laboratories, workshop, seminar hall, Wi-Fi, computer labs, digital classrooms and AC. It also has a big central Library with variety of books of different authors. It also has canteen that provides quality food.

Campus life in Jadavpur University is very good. Friendly seniors, batch mates and teachers make it even better. People of different religion and language together. It also offers a variety of fests. The annual fest of the university is ‘Sanskriti’ where different activities like singing, dancing, games and drama take place. The fest also hosts many big personalities and guests The tech fest is called ‘Srijan’ and is one of the most popular tech fest. Students of different colleges and institutes also take part in this fest. It consists of hackathons, robo car war, robo football, gaming, coding competition, etc.
