I joined Quantum University right after completing my class 12th. I applied for other colleges as well, but I wasn't able to go back to any NIT or IIT, so I have to pick this college as the only option left for engineering. Back then, when I was in my first year, I doubted my choice whether to join this institute or take a drop year and prepare for JEE. But as soon as college started, I got so busy with college life, the studies, the sports, events, and many more things that I never had to consider that question again. The admission process to this college is very straightforward, you just have to fill a few applications and submit the fees on time, and you will be guaranteed admission here.
I have joined here as an undergraduate first-year student of the B.Tech Computer science department. To be honest, this is the only branch I prefer which is worth joining here. Because this branch is kept on most priority in terms of academics by the professors as well as the management of the college. To join this college, you are not required to score in JEE as, during the admissions, the college doesn't ask your JEE mains rank. However, most of the colleges have these criteria. Subjects offered by my department are very helpful in backing placements and internships. Moreover, these subjects are extremely well taught by the professors of our department.
During our semesters, we have up to 5-6 subjects in every semester. Out of those 6 subjects, there will always be 1-2 subjects from other departments also, like the mechanical engineering or IT department. Therefore, those subjects are taught by the professors of those respective departments. Every professor, whether in our department or not, teaches us very well. The course curriculum is managed by professors themselves and is extremely relevant in terms of duration and difficulty. End SEM exams are more difficult than the midterms. You will be getting the CGPAs on yearly basis, which means CGPA is made with the subjects combined of two semesters. This helps in improving your yearly percentage.
Last year about 80% of the students who sat for placements got placed in extremely well positions in top companies. Many companies visit our college. These companies' criteria are also very easy to fulfill. During placements, most of the companies allow CS IT students, therefore these students are sometimes able to sit in for every company's placements. The average CTC you could expect here would go to 4LPA, however, the highest CTC could rank up to 18 LPA. I know this is not huge, but when you look at on-campus placements of other private universities, these numbers are highly satisfying. I didn't sit for placements, Instead, I prepared for the GATE exam right from my second year of B tech.
There were separate hostels for boys and girls and also the distance between both the hotels was not so much. There is a mess inside the hostel itself on the ground floor only. In the hostels, there was not as much sanitation as the amount the college charges from us for hostels. Water is also neither sanitized nor fresh. The food quality was average; you will be getting good and tasty food a few times a week only. Also, there were restrictions in taking extra food. If you take extra food like sweet dishes, milk, eggs, etc. it will all be counted up as extras on your mess bill. Apart from this, the rooms were big enough to accommodate two students for the entire duration of 4 years. The room quality was good. You get a bed, desk, chair, and an almirah. The warden and the hostel staff are very strict and they might be checking off your room any time of the day.
The infrastructure of the college is highly satisfying. Not like the colleges they show in Bollywood movies, but good enough to provide an amazing college experience. Moreover, the college infrastructure is always updating, there is always something new being constructed or something is getting renovated. Here on the campus most of the classrooms have a smart lab projector and stair-mannered benches for students. There is wi-fi available on the campus for every student. Each student can use up to 5GB of 4G data daily from college wi-fi. There is one library which is not huge but you might find your college course reference books. As the professors lay down the curriculum, they make sure that the students can rely on the library books.
Campus life here at Roorkee is more about staying outside the college than hanging out inside the university. We had a tremendous amount of trips planned in our college days, out of which 90% of them were not successful. Inside the university, you will be getting the opportunities to have fun in many events. However other parameters quite annoyed us, like you always have to be in uniform, the college timings were so hectic that we couldn't get much time for ourselves. Apart from this, you will only be getting 1-2 fests every year and that is it.
Quantum University is a very good university. It offers you a lot of opportunities in different fields of higher education. The college and its staff have very well balanced themselves with discipline and fun activities. The staff and the teachers are very strict about the college timings and you have to be on time to attend the classes. The university is not very big; it is situated in a very small area. But the teachers are well qualified and good at teaching.... Read Full Review
I joined Quantum University, Roorkee after going through so many reviews and advertisements. After reading them, and now that I have experienced the most of the Quantum University Roorkee, here is my honest review from my own experience. I completed my class 12th from Bareilly, UP and then I decided to come here to Roorkee. The admission criteria of the college are yet not so difficult to clear. The college asks only 70% of your intermediate results to take direct admissions. However, if you're ... Read Full Review
I was a lateral entry student. I joined B tech CSE in the second year of B.Tech in this college. I have done my diploma in mechanical engineering. I thought it would be difficult for me to cope with the extremely new stream after doing my diploma from another stream. However, right from the admission process to the classroom, management of the college to professors, everyone was very helpful to me. This was among the first things that attracted me to this college. Also, before taking admission, ... Read Full Review
